You are probably overestimating how often you lose due to negativity bias (my guess) or there aren't enough killers at your skill level to match you with.

Bond isn't selfish at all, if used correctly. It allows you to not run into your mates while getting chased, so they can push the gens. Takes a while until you use bond to split up. But you can still use to group up, if you really need a heal.
