Did anti-camp got nerfed or something?

Recently I've been seeing a lot of camping till stage 2 followed up but a tunnel so is the anti-camp not working or something? It happened like 5 games in a row so is this a meta now or the system is bugged and ppl are abusing it?

Nah, it's not bugged. It's just really generous unless you're literally staring face to face with a Survivor.

You can stand more than 16m away to nullify it completely, and even standing slightly less than 16m away it takes more than a full hook stage to build up even if you're there the entire time.

There is no anti-camping mechanic. There’s just an anti-face camp mechanic that’s designed to give survivors a “chance” at unhooking and getting away, not guarantee it.

The anti facecamp doesn't work now and then. Sometimes the killer is really close to the hook, nobody in chase and the meter still didn't go up. Not even when he was literally in my face. Really weird.

Devs have explained many times its anti-FACE camp even then its not good mechanic killer can stand 5 meter away and youll reach the next stage before you can unhook yourself

Proxy camping is only stronger than face camping if it's a non-instadown killer or they have STBFL x8.

It's not even about stbfl it's just hard camp first hook till second stage and tunnel after this happens almost every game

I spare you all the 1st.minute and 20 secs on the basement's hook (2 teammates was around, waiting the good moment to attempt to unhook, the Trapper puts his traps all around to secure the basement bait)…
But it should work in this way:

I'll be honest, it's never worked, and it never will work. The reason? The devs don't care - they encourage the bad behavior, they want it to happen. Why do you think they haven't done anything worthwhile to counter camping, slugging or tunneling?

If they actually cared, they'd either make those actions against TOS, or add in features that actually counter those behaviors. But they haven't, and they won't. They'll do the bare minimum, whether it works or not, and expect players to be happy.

There has never been an anti-camp mechanic in the game.

There is however an anti face-camp one and as far as face-camping goes, it works pretty well.

They haven't done much to counter tunneling, camping and slugging because they are legitimate tactics that enable the killer to use different methods to kill survivors. Like it or not, fun or not it's part of the game, just like looping. They have however introduced counters to these tactics by use of survivor perks. It's your choice if you use them or not. Just like can counter looping by use of certain killers, killers choice to them or not.

So many people claim these are bad tactics, but are they really bad if they work? It's a PvP game, people play different play styles. Without that option to play in different ways the game would die very quickly
