Hackers can get people permanently banned?
Just had this video pop up on my feed and it is pretty concerning!

This is terrifying, I cannot afford to loose my account I don't have enough money to rebuy everything. I hope BHVR adresses this soon-

idk feels like fear mongering. He said “so many people have been banned” but provides like 3 examples and a reddit thread. Also he provided a completely unrelated example with TCM… and he literally proved the point that the girl was probably banned for her poor behavior. Nothing has ever stopped hackers from doing this before so I dont know why it’s such a big problem now. I remember seeing hackers pretend to be famous streamers like spookyloopz. This isnt really new and ill doubt anything will come of it. All those bans he listed could have been completely unrelated, false bans can happem, it doesnt mean they were purposely banned for hacks.
also the end of the video he states there could be “bad apples at bhvr who take bribes to do nefarious things” with no proof. I am sorry, but you cannot claim such outlandish things without any receipts or proof.12 -
provides like 3 examples
Even 3 people getting falsely banned is too many. Especially if you’re a content creator whose livelihood depends on playing DbD.

I’m not sold on the bribes to get people banned, but it’s pretty obvious to me that there are some people behind the scenes who don’t care about the integrity of the game. Every major reveal of the past few years has been leaked. That’s an inside job for sure.

I hope they address this

Hoping this kickstarts a complete overhaul of their anticheat and the way they handle cheaters in general. If cheaters are getting away with this, it's a massive oversight.

At the end there he even said to take this with a grain of salt himself, he didnt claim that this would be the truth and simply said what people were talking about there. Pls dont spread misinformation. he said it IN the video that he doesnt claim these accusations to be truth.
Also these "only 3 people" are kinda very big streamers with alot of followers. This means its way worse if it happens to a non streamer like me, who doesnt have viewers to back them up and other content creators catching the issiue. If you like having your account you should take this serious aswell. And BHVR should respond. Because it could happen to you and me aswell.3 -
Tbf it's likely someone from their consultation program leaking info. We know it's been around for a long time but it was only made public recently, and that whole false Bubba leak thing backs that up even further. I imagine when they say someone taking bribes they mean someone a lot deeper in the company, which is a bit silly

This is quite scary, considering most of us are casual players, the ones who got banned were well-known and still had some trouble getting their accounts back, but it when it comes down to us, we might not have that opportunity to get it back.
BHVR needs to make a new system for cheaters, and more strict bans that counter spoofs. These people are targeting small streamers which is straight up wrong. I lowkey wish hacking/cheating is illegal at this point.

Ran into a hacker today and recorded it. I usually talk trash to hackers in EgC but I didn’t because I seen that Choy video and am low key terrified of being Hardware banned. I almost didn’t report them for cheating either because idk if they can know that.

Not a new concept for cheaters. They've been utilizing a similar concept for years since at least 2020. It's Steam API spoofing. And it's part of why reporting a hacker is usually a joke. The Steam profile you view when you click on someone's name isn't necessarily their actual Steam profile if they're savvy enough. They've been doing it for years to evade bans themselves. Now they're just doing it to impersonate people. The funny part is BHVR getting tricked by it even though they've known about it for years.

The worst part is it is kinda believable since cheater has been doing so many ridiculous things in Dbd

We really need usable cheat protection and server validation at some point. It can't be that cheaters/hackers have so much power in this game and nothing can be done about it.
If you are not a well-known streamer and have your community back you up, then such an unlawful ban is probably really final.
It's time!3 -
This is scary! Please tell me this isn’t true.

And the best part is that they are taking action against the streaming hackers. 👍️

Maybe then I will finally uninstall.

I don't feel this is new, since hackers can do a lot of things. Whilst I feel this is such a rarity as to not be overly concerned, it would be a good idea for BHVR to say something about this sooner, so as to stop the mass hysteria that may come from it.
I still believe a anti-cheat system needs to be implimented into the game, rather than the game being reliant upon reports. They did a sweep a while back that took out a number of cheaters, but a more permanent fixture would be good.
