Why take the chances with the trickster bug?
They already got ratiod very hard on Twitter and reddit for their responses on this matter. It's a epileptic risk that people might not know about. And comes without any warning. Which has apparently ended up with hospitalization of some players with epileptic issues (according to some youtubers spreading word of it). Seizures are not something to be taken lightly in any aspect. I'd say that's nuclear enough to take the character away temporarily. I don't think support will help with their hospital visit if they loaded up the game and suddenly got hit by this bug. It's unfortunate to see this response. At least put a warning like dozens of people have suggested. You could save a life.

They cannot reproduce it on their end. Killswitching Trickster would mean that nobody can actually get this Bug anymore and therefore there is no way of knowing what causes it.

Have they put on the news tab about it so that people who have these issues can see that there's a risk before picking him up? Because as far as I heard there wasn't. Which is what caused problems for people in the first place. And all it takes is it affecting someone who's that sensitive to it to get hit by it for their life to change for the worst.

Dont worry, I understand the issue.
But if they cannot reproduce it, killswitching would mean that they have no way to know what is causing this.

Yeah, I get that. Thanks. I just care for those people as well. Even if a warning only gets a few people's attention with photosensitivty so they don't play him. That's doing a lot more. It's also unfortunate we have a bug that forces this risk onto players until it's fixed. Like the last time. But I appreciate your reasoning on why they have to keep him enabled.

I can not understand that way of thinking. Being affected by photosensitive epilepsy and playing a game is already a risk, because in any case there can be a situation that causes flashing lights or other triggers.
In that sense even using a PC is a risk. Have you ever reconnected your Display (Port) Cable, and seen the flickering and artifacts on the screen? (btw. it can also happen if the cable is not properly seated). Have you ever experienced a GPU issue that caused some Visual Bugs, Display Lock ups and other things that caused flickering and/or funny colored artifacts on the screen? Yes, it can happen, and it happens.
There are so many things that seldomly go wrong, but they still can go wrong when you use technology and that can cause flickering and artifacts on the screen. Yet there are people that deliberately and knowingly get themselves into that danger zone.
If people take that risk, they already made a conscious decision to accept the potential outcome.

Because they don't want to punish 99.9% of the playerbase for the sake of 0.1% of it?

Because everyone is different. Media and games have shown to be more inclusive of people with these issues (with warnings if theres a major risk). There are dangers of tech in general but it's also not fair to have them walk such a fine line. A projector can go bad in a movie theater. No movies for them. They could be driving and someone's lights are flickering. No driving. They could have a tv but the tv has a issue. No tv? But when games like dbd try to be inclusive of them because they have to ignore the slight risk to have some enjoyment like the rest of us (which bhvr has put a firm stance they do want them to be included. With changes to like doctor and clown stating these in the past) is it unreasonable when they know there's a bug with a character that could affect these people to put a warning? You be the judge.

They said they only received one actual report with evidence. Everyone else on social media isn't actually reporting the bug but is bashing BHVR for 'not doing anything.' It doesn't make sense to killswitch a character for the entire player base when only one report was made and no one is able to replicate the bug

Problem is I'm not sure if the one report statement was true since a lot of people have stated they have sent numerous reports with proof. Some doing it live on stream as well. And that statement on reddit karma rating though that could just be a bandwagon.
