Legendary Skins I would add to DBD
No real elaboration required, I'm going to rapid-fire some Legendary Skin ideas and why I think they would work, I do not care about feasibility, I do not care about legal stuff, my only focus here is cool factor, so without further ado, lets start with Trapper
Trapper: Jason Voorhees
Pretty simple one really, Trapper is basically Jason lite, I think it would be fitting, I know for a fact that everyone wants Jason to be his own fully fleshed out killer, and I do as well, but if that never happens I'll accept this compromise
Hillbilly: Pluto from The Hills Have Eyes
I feel like this is another fairly obvious one, The Hills Have Eyes practically birthed the Hillbilly Horror genre, why not make one of the main villains a skin on our very own Hillbilly?
Wraith: SCP 513, A Cowbell
This one's a sleeper hit I imagine, SCP 513 is not the entity shown above, or at least not entirely, it is instead a humble Cowbell, if you look at the Cowbell, the entity can hear you, if you touch the bell, the entity can see you, and if you make the very unfortunate mistake of being in earshot and can hear the bell ringing, then the entity is able to touch you, this works almost perfectly on Wraith, I know powers can't be customised, but imagine if the Weeping Bell could be turned into a actual Cowbell, that would be perfect
Nurse: .EYX
I know, I know, "Sonic.EXE is cringe edgy crap for children" blah blah blah, I get it, however, let me explain Nurse is a effectively omnipresent, nigh inescapable threat that essentially plays her own game, .EYX is a omnipresent, nigh inescapable threat that plays its own game, both of them teleport, both of them throw the established rulebooks of their respective games out the window, and both of them can feel unbeatable and like they're only letting you win just to shut down any hope you might have later for their own amusement, plus, this design is creepy, you're jaded if you think otherwise
Huntress: The Whisperers from Walking Dead
A bit out of left-field I know, but, when you think about it, Whisperers and Huntress aren't all that different, both of them are solitary forest dwellers, both of them are scavengers, both of them wear masks, and both of them use whatever they can, it wouldn't be that difficult to make a Whisperer into a Huntress skin, or even just copy-pasting Beta, that would also work
Myers: His modern Halloween Kills look
Pretty obvious one I think, I really like Myers' design in the modern trilogy and think it should be in the game
Hag: The Until Dawn Wendigos
Another obvious one, Hag is basically a Wendigo already, why not bring it full circle
Doctor: Slenderman/The Operator
The Operator practically fits Doctor like a glove considering that Look-See is already in the game and is basically just Diet Slenderman already, both of them are tall, imposing figures that cause people to hallucinate and go insane, and both of them are terrifying in execution, also, go watch Marble Hornets if you haven't already, it's a great series
Bubba: Doctor Salvador from Resident Evil 4
Honestly I'm pretty sure Doctor Salvador is already just Spanish Bubba, I mean, both of them are psychos, both of them wear masks, heck, even their chainsaws and preferred way to use them are similar (The chainsaws are also both yellow if this picture is to be believed), Salvador practically fits Bubba like a glove
Freddy: OG Freddy
This is the only legendary I think everyone reading can collectively agree on, a OG Freddy with Robert Englund providing voicelines would be awesome, without question
Pig: Hoffman
Another one I don't think people are going to have disagreements over, a lot of people want Hoffman as a Pig skin and I am very much in favour of it
Clown: Art The Mime from Terrifer
I think this is a obvious one, Art and Clown are both gross perversions of clowns, and both are sadistic ######### that delight in making people suffer, as much as I want Art to be his own killer, realistically speaking there is no way in hell BHVR could make Art both accurate to Terrifier and not terrify away other possible licenses given that Art is, well, Art, so I feel like this would be a fair enough compromise
Spirit: The Black Knife Assassins from Elden Ring
This was entirely a "I think it's cool" sort of pick, I like how the Black Knife armour looks, I think it would fit Spirit, I think you could be a bit creative with the Black Knife and turn it into a nice looking sword, etc.
Legion: Jeff The Killer, specifically, the rewritten version by Pastra
I know this one will also raise a few eyebrows, but please, hear me out, Jeff, in every version since the 2011 original, is consistently portrayed as a hoodie wearing, knife carrying, always smiling lunatic who's face is a mask of burns, topped off by a bloody smile he carved into his own face, someone who, though having moments of lucidity, practically devolves into a animal when actually chasing and killing, if that sounds familiar to you, congrats, that would be because I have just described Legion but edgier, and, unlike a lot of other versions, Pastra's version specifically portrays Jeff as unhinged and violent right from the start, someone who, no matter how sympathetic he might seem, deserves nothing but contempt and scorn, almost how like Frank is portrayed but dialled up
Also, if you still think Jeff is entirely unsalvageable as a character, give Pastra's version a listen, it is a genuinely good listen on its own, and a fantastic rewrite of the mess that was the original
Plague: Festus the Leechlord from Warhammer Fantasy
Honestly any named Nurgle character from Fantasy would probably fit Plague given the obvious, but I ultimately decided on Festus for a simple reason, backstory. Festus, before he was corrupted, was a doctor and healer, someone who spent his life saving people, researching illnesses in a attempt to further science and medicine, the only reason he turned to Nurgle was because the Plaguelord sent down a plague that Festus couldn't cure no matter how hard he tried, that mirror's Plague's backstory in a lot of ways, both of them wanted the best for the people around them, and turned to the devil when nothing else worked, plus, I like Warhammer, and any excuse for me to nerd out about Fantasy is a excuse I will gladly take
Ghostface: The Spy from Team Fortress 2
Spy and Ghostface have a lot of similarities, both are serial killers, both are methodical, and both can be cold one moment and cracking a sick joke the next, but the main reason I want Spy as a legendary skin is because of his voicelines, I would pay a lot of money for this skin if Dennis Bateman was brought on for custom voicelines, tell me it wouldn't be funny hearing him mock and insult every survivor he knocks down, the second reason I want him in DBD is because it would be far more respectful to TF2 then Valve has been to TF2 in the last 7 years.
Demogorgon: The Indoraptor from Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom
While the body types don't really match up, how Demo and Indo act are fairly similar, both of them are ambush predators, and while Indo is more intentionally malicious then Demo is, they're act almost entirely on instinct rather then a genuine desire to hurt people, the only real issue I feel this would have is explaining why Indo can suddenly create portals to another dimension, but hey, we're not here to make sense, we're here for cool stuff, and playing as a big dinosaur is objectively cool.
Oni: Scorned Magnamalo's Armour from Monster Hunter Rise
Another eyebrow raiser I'm sure, but here me out, Magnamalo is directly inspired by both Oni and Samuari, it primarily fights with something resembling finesse, but, when it gets pissed, generally resorts to beating the ever-living ######### of whatever happens to annoy it, Scorned Magnamalo in particular are highly aggressive beasts that kill basically anything that looks at them, plus, the Longsword you make out of Scorned Magnamalo parts is quite literally called "Devil's Deal" and is styled to resemble a club more then a sword, just attach a Kanabo to the armour and boom, you basically have Oni down to a T
Deathslinger: Postal Dude from Postal 1
Another decision I made based off of vibes more then anything, OG Postal is dark, gritty, and mean, Deathslinger's backstory is dark, gritty, and mean, they both like guns, they both wear trenchcoats, hell you probably wouldn't have to change the gun that much, just modify something like a stock AK and boom, done. Also, bring Rick Hunter in for voice lines, that's non-negotiable
Pyramid Head: His movie design
Another simple one I think, PH's movie look is fairly iconic, I like the headpiece, I want in game, also, shirtless PH memes, why the hell not
Blight: Queek Headtaker from Warhammer Fantasy
This was one I picked based off of vibes, while Queek and Blight are basically complete opposites in terms of lore, in terms of gameplay they are almost identical, Blight runs people down, bashing into walls and making it almost impossible to get away from him, whereas Queek throws himself into the face of whoever looks at him funny and beats the ######### out of them until they stop moving, they have very similar energy and overall vibe, plus, Dwarf-Gouger, Queek's main weapon, could pass as a walking stick similar to Blight's, for all the reasons I could list though, I'm just going to list the obvious, I like Skaven, I think Queek is cool, I want to hear him laugh whenever he stabs a survivor, and that's all the reason I need
Twins: SCP 610: The Flesh that Hates
This was one I picked mostly because I couldn't really think of anything else, SCP 610 is one of my favourite SCPs, and fits with Twin's shtick of separating into two killers, plus, given how malleable 610 is, you could make Twins look as normal or as horrific as you wanted
Trickster: Diego Brando from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run
This one I feel is pretty obvious, Trickster and Diego are both blond ######### that like throwing knives at people, you could replace Trickster's bat with a standard American baseball bat, and boom, easy skin
Nemesis: Mr X from RE 2
Another fairly obvious one, Nemesis is already basically just Mr X without the hat, and to be honest I would have preferred Mr X over Nemesis anyway, seeing as Nemi is way more advanced in RE3 compared to the fairly simple Mr X in RE2
Pinhead: Any of the other Cenobites
Fairly obvious pick, it's always struck me as a bit strange that only the Chatterer is a legendary skin, where are the rest of the Cenobites?
Artist: Grimm from Hollow Knight
Bit of a left-field choice, but hear me out, Grimm and Artist both create art (Grimm through performances, Artist more literally), they're both elegant, and one of Grimm's attacks in his boss fight is him sending out 3 flaming bats, just imagine the crows of Artist's power are bats and boom. Though tbf this is entirely a biased choice, Hollow Knight's my favourite game ever made and Grimm's my favourite boss in HK, having him in DBD would be a dream come true
Sadako: Alma Wade from F.E.A.R
This one's a fairly obvious one, Alma and Sadako are basically the same character, one just happens to be a video game antagonist rather then a movie antagonist, the only issue I see coming up would probably be the weapon, but tbf Sadako never actually used a weapon either, if BHVR made that work then they can do the same for Alma
Dredge: Mergo's Wetnurse from Bloodborne
I feel like this one is also obvious, I mean, just look at Mergo's Wetnurse against a picture of Dredge, they have roughly the same build, plus, it just looks cool, replace Dredge's weapon arm with one of the Wetnurse's blades and copy-paste the model, easy skin
Wesker: His RE Revelations 2 outfit
Kind of a obvious one I think, Wesker's RE Revelations 2 raid mode look looks good, fits him, and I feel acts like a good in-between his S.T.A.R.S outfit and his standard trenchcoat
Knight: Soul of Cinder from Dark Souls 3
This one is entirely for cool factor, I love how the Soul of Cinder looks in every bit of artwork it has, and it fits Knight's medieval grimdark vibes.
Skull Merchant: William Afton from Five Nights at Freddys
If any pick was going to raise a eyebrow, it would be this one, but, hear me out, William and SM are very similar characters, they're both rich business people, they're both psychopathic #########, they're methodical and very careful, and they both only screwed up due to circumstances they probably never could have foreseen, and thanks to the Silver Eyes we know roughly what he looked like without the Springtrap suit on, and I have no doubt in my mind that, if he could, he would have used camera drones just like SM does, only it would have a actual lore justification since we know William's pretty tech-savvy, just modify the Springlock Crank William usually uses and boom, you have a legendary SM skin
Singularity: GLaDOS from Portal
This was a pick suggested to me by a friend on Discord (I know you're reading this @MarbleThrone, thanks for the suggestion), and, judging from the art below, I completely agree with it, GLaDOS and Hux are both highly intelligent machines that do not have the highest opinion of people, why not put the two in a blender and see what happens?
Xenomorph: The Predalien
Another pretty obvious one, I think the Predalien is cool and I want it in game
Chucky: The remake design
Another kinda obvious one, Chucky doesn't have a lot of potential cosmetics, might as well knock the remake look off the list
Unknown: The Boiled One
Bit of a eyebrow raiser I'm sure, but I think it fits, Unknown's teasers were pretty obviously inspired by Analog Horror, why not have a skin that is just a straight up Analog Horror monster? The power might be a bit difficult to really sell but everything else fits
Vecna: The Changeling from Warhammer Fantasy
The final eyebrow raiser, Vecna and the Changeling are both highly proficient wizards, both work towards their own goals for their own reasons (Vecna wants Godhood, Changeling just wants to cause chaos for shits and giggles), both are tall and imposing, and both have a great fashion sense, and for those of you who are going "What about Stranger Things Vecna?" Here's my answer, I don't care for ST Vecna, and Changeling looks cooler, so have at it.
Anyway, those are my choices for Legendary skins, feel free to add your own picks, I'm curious as to what all of you would add
G'night
