Initialization error

When I load the game up after this new update I get this error at the main menu and cant load in.

"The game has initialized incorrectly and may not save your game properly. Restarting your game may resolve the problem."

I've restarted the game, my pc, reinstalled, verified files and nothing works, and solutions would be helpful thanks.

    I am having this same issue, I have done a fresh install, even deleted every game i had installed and reinstalled steam. Nothing worked. I have been unable to play SINCE updating at 12 today

    Hey, someone on reddit found a fix, I'll paste their comment here for you,

    "(Steam/PC) I was finally ableto get in. The patch corrupted my save file. Here's how I fixed it:
    On your Windows Search bar, type the following:%localappdata%\DeadByDaylight\Saved\
    Delete the folder named 'PersistentDownloadDir' (this is a hidden folder)
    Restart Steam
    Launch Dead by Daylight. This should create the folder again as a new one andwill get rid of the corruption (if that was the issue).
    Hopefully this helps someone!"
