When will the "Initialization Error" be addressed? (PC / Steam)

Alternatively: When will the hotfix for this Trinity-sent patch be released?

This started on the 16th for me and others. After buying the DLC I haven't been able to play the game at all. I haven't seen Behavior make a comment on it on their socials (except Twitter which I don't have) or on the forums.

Zen Desk is telling me it's my internet but told someone else with this issue it's their drivers. I made a bug report to be told it's the wrong forum and needs to be in General Discussion and to reach out to Zen Desk for more help.

Anyways. Things I have tried: Restarting the PC after numerous uninstall and reinstall attempts on both C and D drives, refreshing the account connection, uninstalling and reinstalling with the cloud off and on (Steam), checked my firewall (it's allowed), checked my internet (able to play everything else in my Steam library), followed all "how to" videos and guides on a search for this error going all the way to page 3, reinstalled Steam, checked my PC time, and cleared Steam cache.

My only other thought that I haven't tried would be to unlink and re-link my Steam and Behavior accounts, which I really don't want to do. Mostly because I don't know what this would do to the cells I have or the cosmetics I've earned and purchased. Plus I'm beginning to feel like this is something on Behavior's end that they haven't spoken about yet.

I was finally able to get help for this from Alexander in (DBD) support. So I'm posting the solution to my issue here in case this will help someone else. In order for this to work you will need to have hidden files/folders visible.

    1. On your Windows Search bar, type the following: %localappdata%\DeadByDaylight\Saved\
    2. Delete the folder named 'PersistentDownloadDir' (this is a hidden folder)
    3. Restart Steam
    4. Launch Dead by Daylight. This should create the folder again as a new one and will get rid of the corruption (if that was the issue).
