Don't. Repair. Corner. Gens.

I swear, if I have one more random player who repairs the only generator in the corner of nowhere, I'm going to lose it and become a slugger skull merchant.

We get the Hawkins map? Randoms repair the portal room gen and the upstairs gen. The map is Greenville? Randoms flock to repair the theater gen. The map is Suffocation Pit? Randoms suddenly have a daily mission to "repair every single generator on the same side."

Of course we lose every match if this keeps happening. I thought it was common knowledge by now that some generators are better left for the end of the game. At this point, I'm happy to face Corrupt Intervention because it funnels randoms into the middle generators.

Those players should be forced to use deja vu and prohibited to repair gen they don't have aura reading on...

Smart killers will ignore those gens anyway because they are in areas that are far too strong for survivors. It makes more sense to patrol the gens that are closer, and in weaker areas. So all it means is that you'll do less gens, and make your team's morale low anyway making them more likely to give up.

Time spent on safe gens is time lost anyway. Even if just one of those safe gens that the killer won’t patrol makes it to the last three, it's almost always an instant win. It makes no sense to repair them early or mid-game, it's better to spend that time doing less safe gens instead.

Unfortunately not all player understand this, and you'll likely always have at least one person on the team who will go to those gens where they feel safest. If you find it happening alot maybe run something like Better Together or Empathetic Connection. I personally just chip away at those middle gens. There's usually someone else willing to help when they see me there.

Make deja vu basekit, there is no way game can be balanced when most survivors 3 gen by themselves

    No seriously

Sorry, but I'm getting on the first gen I see, safe corner gen or otherwise. I've played so many games when not even one gen gets done before somebody is dead.

I don't even care if we 3 gen. A 3 gen is still a better result than 90% of my Survivor games.

When I read the title, I wanted to comment on the upstair gens on Hawkins, about the park gen on Greenville and to the lesser extent the upstair gen on Dead Dogs, but you already got most of these covered.

My friend with whom I regularly play always rages hard, when this gens are done first and expresses her hatred for randos.

Have you ever considered that the "safe" gens happened because the killer forced it to happen? I'll be real with you, one thing I always do is ignore gens that are too far away while making sure the survivors are corralled into doing the gens I want them to do. And it's really not hard to do - put pressure on the survivors when they're doing the gens I want saved for last and ease up on the gens I don't care about. Works almost every time.

And when I'm survivor, I just do whatever gen I come across. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, depends on the killer and how active my teammates are.

sadly even the big twitch / tournament players make this mistake.

And thats why, ladies and gentlemen, I have always said Corrupt Intervention is a survivor perk

Greenville: the theater and the plaza gens
RPD East: The helicopter and the armory gen
RPD West: The Stars office gen
Haddonfield and Badham: the house basement gen
    Grim Pantry: the dock gen

Any map with the killer shack in the corner and a gen inside

EDIT: fixed the rpd gens because I made a little mistake lol

This is why I almost always run Deja Vu. But even if you do get 3-gen'd, you can still do the gens. Instead of trying to do the gens outright, focus on undoing their regression so you max out the regression events, and then the killer just loses. I don't understand how most people don't understand this. This is literally the whole point of the gen kick limit.

A good reminder, especially for new players. As much as I can, I try to get "interior" gens done first. I don't use Deja Vu as I kind of feel like it's a wasted perk slot and would rather rely on my map knowledge/awareness.

It depends on how the match is going, where the killer is, etc. I've definitely had matches where people did all of the gens on one side of the map, or only the outer gens first, but I've also had matches where we all burned way too much time fighting for a gen the killer was defending — in that case, it probably would have been better if a couple of people had broken off and done far away gens.

IMO "try not to make a 3-gen" is a more helpful rule of thumb than "never do the outside gens first."

Just had a game on Greenville with a team that knew what they were doing. Pretty sure we were all solo (I'd played with one in a previous game, and the other two didn't play like a duo but can't say for sure). No one touched Theatre or Plaza gens until there was 1 gen left. Had a 3 out. It's nice to get those rare solo games where everyone is on the same page.

To be fair they are doing gens and getting points, it's better than looping getting very few points, usually end up dead and not making any progress towards the main objective which is escape.

Not only that but it's possible they are doing an achievement/mission of repair total amount of gens.... Doesn't matter what ones. Not great team playing but if they are solo then can't really blame them for wanting to do their own thing due to no ability to effectively communicate.

to be fair the first gen I see is the first gen I do I only worry about this if it looks like the killer is obviously gonna attempt to 3 gen or something

Most "seasoned" Killers ignore undefendable Generators regardless, so it really doesn't make much of a difference if they get done or not. Granted, that time and energy could be spent trying to strategically take out specific Generators to prevent a strong 3-Gen, but for the most part good Killers build their patrols assuming you are going to do that. I can guestimate with a fair accuracy which Generators are going to be attempted first by the good Survivors. And you know what, those are the people I'm going to eliminate first because they know what they are doing. So, in the grand scheme of things, having those undefendable Generators out of the way isn't necessarily a bad thing. At least it gets you closer to powering the gates for if/when you do crack the hard ones.

To put this in an applied context, using a map you mention, I don't ever go near the portal room end of the map on Hawkins until the game is pretty much over and I'm chasing down one or two unfortunates who have no chance of powering the generators. For me Hawkins is a SQUARE, not a rectangle and there is an invisible line I don't cross until the right conditions are met. I'm not picking a 3-Gen from the start but I am shrinking and reshaping the map. I write the Generators down there off. The longer they stay up the better, but I'm not going to pressure them directly. I'm going to hook and torment anyone entering my square so they have to come down to my neighborhood to play. If they don't, then I'm getting a 3v1 or a 2v1 in my square and I'm 100% going to win that war of attrition. Do you see my point?

By in large, it is pointless to rage against people just trying to do objectives. Unless you are a SWF, with a battle plan, they are just doing their best. Just like you, they want points and they hope that being one Generator closer will mean something. Likewise, some of them might even being working that horrible portal room in the hopes the Killer hears it and chooses to come waste time there. My advice is chill and worry more about what YOU are doing in the match and less about what other people are doing. If that kind of coordination and approach are important to you, find three likeminded friends.

I do agree that survivors should try their best not to 3 gen if they can, but at the same time, the longer you are not on a generator at the start of the match, the less pressure you are putting on the killer.

Not to mention that some killers will identify their gens from the beginning and will protect them vigilantly. If you end up "breaking the 3 gen" but 1 or 2 people are now on death hook and there are still 2 gens left, I wouldn't say it was worth it.
