Steam Cross Progression issue

Hi guys.
I am having a major issue trying to connect my behaviour account to my steam account.
I followed the guide step by step for playstation and it connected perfectly, however with steam, it will start by saying it's syncing for a few minutes before it eventually times out and goes back to being un-connected? I'll also receive an automatic email from behaviour telling me connection failed.
Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone have any tips/recommendations?
