I refuse to play 1v4 now
this is mostly in reference to me playing survivor. 1v4 killer is still fine as killer cuz I can use my fun builds. 2v8 killer is a blast too cuz I can play with my non killer main friends who suck and make me laugh. But there is a vast difference in survivor experience between the two modes.
I did several 2v8 and 1v4 matches to get a decent idea of the difference in fun FOR SURVIVOR. No contest. 2v8 is the best.
My experience in regular:
1 goofy match with a were elk where we played with the map bug with the red tile
2 matches where I was tunneled out.
2 matches where the killer camped, got off the hook via face camp meter
2 matches where others were tunneled out
4/7 of these matches had incredibly toxic post game chat where the killer was insulting and rage baiting. 1 of which a streamer was doing that as survivor.
My experience in 2v8:
AlmostEvery match has been a vibe. Killers that have humor and make a conscious effort not to tunnel. Now I have had a few bad matches where the killers did nothing but slug and were kinda toxic in chat (all were huntress, which is no surprise)and a lot of survivors that are just….very new to this and couldn’t recognize a gen if it were the only thing on the map. But still 1000x more fun and casual.
Are y’all dreading the forced return to 1v4? What has ur experience been so far?

Ive already gone back to 1v4.
In 2v8 as survivor I get put with people who just muck around, and as killer the gens absolutely fly. I sit in queue for 30 mins and the match is literally over in 6 mins or less. Ping ping ping ping.

yeah it is frustrating when you’re the only one in 8 people who are in a gen. But it’s a lot more casual. If winning is a major importance for you, def not the mode to go. But I have fun regardless. I play with my friend who has maybe 2 hours total as killer (she doesn’t even know how to lunge) and it’s so funny. I got 19 hook stages one match while she got 4 lmao. And two were people I doened

Being teabagged by 6+ people at the exit gate isnt super fun to me. Its not that fun, all people do is genrush its not like I am experiencing new things.
I am earning more bloodpoints as killer in 1v4 ( no bonus in either mode, but in 1v4 I get offerings and pips ) get to play the killers I want and I dont have another killer making mistakes causing us to lose, its all on me.
Its just a sweatfest on either side for me. Id rather just play 1v4 and get slowdown.

I love 2v8 as much as the next guy, but killer queue times and not being able to pick certain killers as of now is a pain as it's basically not worth the time
But the new mode has great potential and would hope it would be polished by feedback along with bringing all the killers instead of the original 5

2v8 is way more fun for me as survivor, because there's so much going on and you do more of everything. 1v4 feels like a boring slog in comparison and also frustrating with how much upper hand killers have. 70s gens also feels sooooo much better, I can't go back to sitting 90s on a gen.

yeah. I just did a round of 1v4. It was on Hawkins with the xenomorph. The killer was so preoccupied tunneling that all I did was gens. Never even went down and ignored me to chase the dude he’s tunneling. Killer wound up with only 4 hooks and a loss. But it was just kind of boring and he was crazy toxic in post game chat.
I think the mode is more fun for survivor but can suck as killer sometimes if you’re hyper focused on winning. It’s extra bad if you’re playing with a random killer, but I don’t do that so I can’t say. But I stand by that if you go into it with a casual goofy mindset, you’ll enjoy the mode a lot more.0 -
Yeah dude the queue times are miserable! And it’s not even that it’s because there’s a small killer pool. I’ll play with my friend and still wait around 10 minutes for a match.
id like to see deathslinger in this mode. Or nemesis with a bunch of zombies. It’d be so funny0
