Funny to see "blood points" written in kanjis.

Yes me too! I think this is written in Chinese Kanji (hanzi) which seems to literally be ‘blood point’ in its characters: 血点
Whereas the Japanese player-base just refer to it as BP or in Katakana ブラッドポイント

I don't know Chinese. All I know is that I've looked at the kanjis and the words "blood" "point" popped into my head.
But yes, I'd imagine katakanas would be the preferred way for the Japanese so it sounds like "buladdo poento" instead of the actual meaning.

I remember I started playing DBD for the first time while in Japan and most of the terminology is like you said, katakana versions of the English words for most things
