Trickster's pickrate rly sunked to the bottom of the ocean
3rd least picked killer according to Nightlight (community based stats).
Btw only lower is Twins and Hag with difference like 0.3-0.6% which is crazy.

Oh, thanks for reminder that's true. Maybe that's why he dropped to top 3 bottom but still he is consistently bottom pickrate :(

Actually it was even a month ago he was closer to "Avg" but yeah not many people like Trickster other then his fans. lol

Honestly I don't see much reason why people don't play him, he is 4.6 so not exactly worst to play as

Honestly aside from him being 115%, there's no real reason to play him over Huntress aside from just liking him.
Huntress is free, stronger, easier to start playing, and generally just more fun and less frustrating than Trickster is.

How many people post in Nightlight periodically? I'm gonna guess 1k if I'm being very generous

Per mounth there is thousands of matches recorded which for sure is tiny % compare to whole playerbase.
However what it does is to see trends. If something isnt / is popular that means its probably like this in greater picture.

he was kill-switched. his kill-rate is a lot higher post rework than pre-rework. so his kill-rate distribution. He is ok, i still play him from time to time. He kinda strikes me as pre-buffed huntress.
Pre-buffed huntress used to always rely on that green wind-up add-on. Currently trickster relies on Memento blades which doesn't feel good for trickster player. It also feels bad that most of his add-on got nerfed/feel rubbish compare to before. Wacek points out that trickster is also too much reliance on main event to punish vaulting/gameplay interactions. i agree with that as well.

It‘s obvious that something like that happens, when you change a beloved character in a way he looses his identity. I‘m also looking at you Sadako. Both just weren‘t fun after they got their first rework.

While its true that Nightlights stats are biased and crooked, ie only players who care about the game a lot would even think about uploading there, the vast swaths of casual players probably never heared of it, its still a big enough sample size to show more then just flukes. There have been a couple if instances, where Nightlight got 7 of the 10 most played perks right and their stats coincided with the official one that BHVR released.
So while nothing at Nightlight should be taken at face value or extrapolated at "the whole playerbase", its very good at showing trends and I can think of no instance, where a problematic or underused perk didn't show exactly that at its stats in Nightlight.
Also, think about this: while the player who reports themselves are biased, their opposition is just a glimps of what you will encounter in the wild. When I upload a survivor match, the killers I got matched with are the kind of killers that I run into every other game. And when I upload one of my killer matches, my loadout might stay the same, but the 2-3 DH (for example) are data collected out in the real game.

I know for stats we don't really have anything else to use besides Nightlight, but I have several reservations about going by it.
First off it's entirely supplied by the community, so bais of which trials to include is kinda built in. And as another noted above these players are also much more likely to be sweaty.
Second it's just in English, limiting its reach. Next I doubt any consoles mess with it, further limiting its reach big time, as the majority of the playerbase is on the consoles.
And because of all that Nightlight lacks global coverage, and is why perks like Self Care do not show their overall usage accurately for instance.
Useful for trends maybe, but imo not much beyond that.

He is constantly the number 23-24 in this list, but, he need a huge addon pass and BHVR need to listen his feedback, a lot of people, including me, as main Trickster didint like some changes and made he feels bad to play as and against. He is still problematic in so many ways and BHVR complete forget him since last december.
