Which killer would be scariest to deal with IRL? PT 1
Planning to do a little tournament to see which killer people would find scariest?
If you want an example of what the situation would be like, there is an lore entry in tome 6 where a bunch of people visit crotus prenn asylum and they run into the oni. But they're not in a trial, and so oni just cuts them down extremely quickly without having to hook or sacrifice them. There's no terror radius or red stain.
You can factor as much into your decision as you want, from the killers personality to appearance to how hard they would be to actually escape from. But unless specified, the killers powers are going to work the same way they do in the trials. That won't be really changing anything for these first couple of polls.

This for me was a hard decision.
Trapper clearly truly doesn't wanna do this. He had to be tortured into it and I doubt if left to his own devices he considers it much more than a crappy job he's forced to engage in. If left alone, he probably would not be as much a threat as the others because he might be willing to show mercy. If not, it's gonna be a quick machete blow after stumbling into a beartrap, the man puts you out of your misery fast. A pretty fast death if not entirely painless.Wraith is a rage and pain fueled man scarred in multiple ways, he probably sees himself as a monster and honestly strikes me as someone who would be the type to cry between trials because he just despises the fact he's become such a monster. He never wanted to hurt anyone and he very obviously first snapped when he found out what Azarov was doing in his junk yard. Though he's very intimidating and scary, I also get the sense that the Wraith just wants to be left alone and maybe is even a bit afraid of his own power, knowing what he can do to people and WILL do to people. Wraith is terrifying because he's hard to spot of course, you would be terrified the entire time because of the nature of his power, never trusting your eyes. That alone makes him terrifying, but the worst to face? I don't think so, primarily because of how he kills. Though death by the Wraith is quick and brutal, it's over rapidly, repeated axe blows to the spine causing paralysis and rapid bleedout since he clearly hits the Greater Thoracic Artery with his blows. A relatively painless death.
Hillbilly is hard to pinpoint for me. Here we have someone who was neglected and abused his whole life, shunned, abandoned. Clearly, he only wants a normal life. He seems desperate for friendship even. What Hillbilly is, is a misunderstood and very lonely man who is taking out his anger at years of neglect on others around him. Though terrifying I feel truly more sorry for him than that scared of him, and actually feel like with some effort he could even be easily befriended. If not, the chainsaw will make fast enough work of you despite the terror of being hit with a sledgehammer. It would be exceedingly painful, but again, the bleedout would make sure it's a pretty quick death after the initial strike.
Nurse however… Oh boy. Nurse is scary, Nurse is something else. Nurse is someone who believes she's HELPING those she kills. Nurse is so mentally unstable she is called to put "the wicked" or "broken" out of their misery, and that means anyone she sees as too antagonistic or sick to be cured. Nurse has a lot in common with the "Doctors of Death" that have cropped up many times throughout modern years, physicians or nurses who would poison or sicken those in their care with the twisted thought of making them suffer less or getting a payout for it. Nurse actually cares about your wellbeing still, even though she murders indiscriminately. You not only cannot hide from her in solid structures due to how her power works, you can't even truly run from her. You can't escape her in any way, and you can't hope to beat her at her own game. She's so relentless she will chase you out of places just to "save you from yourself". Not only is she hard to shake and mentally twisted, she kills the slowest of all of the Killers here - by strangulation. Strangling to death takes a very long time, it's not as quick as the movies make it. It's a prolonged agony of breathlessness and pain as you die a slow brain death, pass out, and then are strangled a few minutes more for good measure until your heart stops. That, and it's an uncomfortably intimate way to die. The other Killers here end you fast, and with a merciful bleedout in seconds. The Nurse kills you over several minutes. That alone is enough to make the Nurse absolutely terrifying in my eyes.1 -

Hillbilly
Firstly, I love these tournaments, so feel free to bash a lot of them out!
Anyway, I chose the Hillbilly over the others because of the aggression, the pain a chainsaw would cause (compared to the other weapons), and being chased by something that's faster, promising a messy death and the sounds would be the scariest in real life.
Nurse and Wraith are close together for 2nd and 3rd respectively, but they don't really bring along that aspect of pain the Hillbilly promises.
Trapper in 4th, because I'm usually astute and am confident I'd spot most traps, consodering how large they are. Other than that, he just runs with a weapon. I'd still be scared, but fairly confident he won't catch up.

I voted Billy, because a person running at you 100 miles an hour with a chainsaw would be pretty damn scary. He wouldn't necessarily be the hardest to escape from, unless you're outside, but I mostly chose him because of the pain. If you couldn't fight him off or escape, that chainsaw is not going to be a fun way to go.
Nurse would be my 2nd pick, mostly for the reasons @VantablackPharaoh91 discussed.
Also Pt.2 when?
