Why does dbd feel so crazy playing late at night when all the toxic and good players come out?

we all know what you mean. The worst of it is the amount of cheaters/hackers using server crashes.

It's crazy around this time where I live (4:30AM EST). I'm just playing for bloodpoints. Not expecting to win. SoloQ teammates tend to sabotage games intentionally, bodyblock their teammates, other forms of griefing, ect. Wild stuff.

I used to face this problem with online videogames in general but getting old fixed that. I’m happily asleep while all the crazies are online these days.

Cannot say anything about toxic (and nowadays the word "toxic" has lost any meaning anyway, it basically means "doing things I dont like" when people call something "toxic"), but when it comes to "good", this is just normal.
The more unusual a time of the day is, the more likely it is that very dedicated players are playing. The casuals which only play sometimes will play in the late afternoon, early evening. But dedicated players will play late at night or early in the morning or something like that.
(A good indicator for that are holidays, because then you get the casual gamers during the same time as the dedicated gamers, which is noticeable)3 -
I play between 10am and midday. I find it's alot more chill. I tend to avoid weekends and night time

It's easier to match and farm with the other side.
