Should map offering swf losses not count as lost?
I been losing a few map offering games should i not consider them a lost sense they made the map in their favour?

imo If you lost, than you lost, but it’s ok because their is nothing that says you lost when you leave that match

Since there isnt any official win condition,
do as you wish king

I mean I think if multiple offerings are made the map offering that don't win out should be returned.

That's not how we want it to work, if you choose a map offering and it doesn't get chosen that offering is rightfully lost - it's not a guarantee nor do we want it to be.

Honestly this really isn't something you should be worrying about, winning or losing doesn't define the match - not in DbD. The more you win, you will increase your MMR and get tougher and tougher opposition. I think this is why we see a lot from killer players saying they have to camp when their MMR increases, it's because they're out of their play area, and then feel more pressured to camp to get those kills. Rather than letting themselves gain MMR and experience slower.

When it comes to the games win condition (MMR), yes, you lost. So you should lose MMR. But this does not really matter, since MMR is just a number to determine Matchmaking and I dont really understand the Obsession of players that they want to keep their MMR high. They dont even see it.
When it comes to your own rules… I mean, you can think if you lost or not, this is up to you. It would be silly to think you did not lose tho. Where should it stop?
"I did not lose because I had bad RNG."
"I did not lose because that one Survivor/that Killer was probably smurfing."
"I did not lose because I dont wear my gamer pants."

You're a frequent guest at Hens chat, which do a lot of tourney, and you still believe that killers feel like they have to camp only because survivors are better, not because pressure the map on some not strongest killers is obviously just throwing the game due the fact that survivors are way more time effective than killers without mobility and strong chase power? Wow.
I will be really glad to see how 70sec hook stage affects tourneys and will force killers leave a hook and get destroyed in 80-90% matches or make possible to run 4 slowdowns even on S tier killers just to balance it out. Or just better decision will be to put on pink glasses and say that they are out of their play area after every lose on tourney. Get gut, tourney killers 😎

A loss is a loss but I dont see is as a skill issue if it was like 4 p100s with GoJ or something, still a loss but not one I take seriously.

Comp and pub dbd are basically 2 completely different games and should never be compared.

Do you think the same for tunnling? If a killer has to tunnel these players play out of their play area or what would your be guess?

If the Dev team introduced a Suffering mechanic that incentivizes individual hook states and punishes players who only get 4 hooks but 4 kills from camping, then killers wouldn’t feel so pressured to camp to get kills. I understand wanting to reward kills as well as it would be strange to reward a killer for not killing but being able to individually hook everyone and kill them all would be a huge feat.
It would be the healthiest route for the game in all honesty and still lore accurate because I’m sure the Entity would rather maximize suffering than a survivor just being camped out.
At the end of the day everyone wants to win, and for killers right now that’s a 3k-4k. If you change the win conditions I think it would change the view killers have on the game. I win 90% of my games and very, very rarely ever feel pressured to camp but that’s because I feel confident in the end game but my most fun games were when I 12 hooked everyone which I can’t do all the time. I often ignore one survivor and hook the other 3 until one is dead and this is what a lot of pros do.

I have been playing for 4 years and never knew this.
I thought map offerings or any offerings were returned to the player if they conflict with another offering.
I thought two or more map offerings was considered "conflicting".
What is considered "conflicting with another offering" ? Occasionally at the offering screen, one or more offering is not burned and flies off the screen.

You seem confused. Mandy is saying that the average killer player can use tools like camping or tunneling and get themselves in over their head relatively easily.
You're conflating that with "all camping is due to this" which isn't at all what she said.
At comp level, camping and tunneling is still the most efficient way to play the game, so killers will do those things. Just like gen rushing, pre dropping, and running to comp corner are the most efficient ways to play survivor at that level.

I believe if two of the same map offering are played, one of them is returned, which one is random. But if two different (conflicting) map offerings are played, both are burned and the result is 50/50.

I don’t think op is asking if his map offerings should be returned if not used, he’s wanting to know if when a map offering is used against him if it shouldn’t be considered a loss. And of course it should, but reality says it doesn’t matter

In a match result sense and MMR sense, a loss is a loss.
Programming a whole system to "soften" a loss when a map offering and swf is in play seems like a waste of dev effort better spent elsewhere.
As for you personally considering it a loss or not… that's up to you.

I think shrouds are the only ones that conflict with each other and will fly off the screen before being burned. The game doesn't seem like it could do both a survivors spawn furthest from the killer and survivors spawn together.

Yes that is what i'm asking

Let me cope >:( I'm ALWAYS the winner in my matches. No one can see how low my MMR is just the way I like it

It's meant to be a gamble, like if someone uses the sacrificial hand. it works the same way with the perks. you can use aura blocking perks, but killers can not choose to bring any aura perks. In this instance, you just wasted a perk slot.

Finally, Dev confirmation that winning in DBD doesn't matter as much as ANYONE thinks that it should and that MMR is not a prize to be gained or won. It confirms a lot of what I have been thinking for a while. Thank you Mandy.
Now please deincentivize sweating to win by fixing the emblems/pips, and please encourage playing with more varied perks and playstyles. Maybe one of these modes could even become a casual queue where if you really want to pip it's easy, but if you want the challenge the base game is there?

I think they've been pretty clear on that. That's one of the reasons they hide MMR.

People are sweating to win, because they like to win. Every time casual queue gets brought up though it has the problem of, why wouldn't Killers who want to dominate just go to that one?

But a Dev just came in and said that MMR is not a win condition nor a prize????
0 -
It isnt. But there is a condition which increases or decreases your MMR (which is Kills and Escapes). Therefore, this is a win condition. MMR is obviously not the prize, because you dont really gain anything from increasing your MMR.
1 -
But doesn't that mean MMR isn't a wincon in itself because all it does is make the game easier or harder based on how hard you choose to win or lose?
