Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Can we talk about OverDrive and how it's counterintuitive to billy

At risk of potentially being grilled into charcoal I'm going to say it. I think OverDrive was a mistake and it's made billy harder to balance.

One of the main issues he faced originally was accessibility for newer players as his power wasn't particularly user friendly even for experienced players. Obviously he was significantly weaker back in the day which compounded the issue and I'm grateful the developers decided to buff him. However, what we had originally was a simple power with addons that were transformative (yeah I know, most weren't great but the philosophy at least persisted). From this perspective he was at least conceptually easy to understand even if the power mechanically was difficult.

Now what we have is a sub component that newer players and veterans alike are somehow meant to keep track of and accommodate for when it kicks in midway through a chainsaw sprint. In addition, every addon and change now has to be made with consideration of its interaction with OverDrive. The turn rate window increase was clearly done with the OD mechanic in mind and took away a lot of the skill expression the killer had while making it ridiculously strong. For the record, I can still play around OD as can many veterans, but it's extremely telling that even they lose control from time to time just because of the nature of OD deciding to kick in. It doesn't feel good when a down is robbed simply because OD triggered partly into a curve or sprint.

I am aware that asking for OD to be removed is extremely unlikely. However, could we at least look at a compromise by disabling it when running iri engraving and dialing back the turn rate change. If that seems a bit much to lose then increase the iri engraving by a couple of % so it accurately matches what old yellow and green engraving gave ( I think it's around 1-3% slower than old doubles even with the new basekit).

Otherwise, the only other changes really needed are some addon numbers tuning down, OD charge rate needs nerfing slightly as well as the recovery during it. Potentially lopro needs looking at, but I have no idea how you can change it without making it awful.
