Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Fix for slugging when?

hmmmfunnyhaha.jpg

This is getting very boring guys. I know it's not holding hostage or something, but there are crybaby/spitefull/evil/etc. killers who will just want to slug everyone for whatever reason they please. You don't even have to offend or hurt the killer feelings in many cases, you can just offend them by playing a Survivor.

How long do we have to endure this hmm? Is this fine with developers and optimal strategy for killers to just force you to sit on the ground 4 min until everyone dies? What a great gameplay.

The word you're looking for is "bleeding out".

I personally would love if survivors were able to pick themselves up after some time being slugged (unrelated to recovery but would still require full recovery to work), but that would cost them a hook stage. if they don't have any more hook stages left (dead on hook) they'll still be able to pick themselves up but then next time they go down they could either die immediately / be moriable / would just be on a timer till they die regardless of going down again.

So the game could still progress, the killer would still get pressure, but slugging now would progress the main objective and won't rob survivors entirely out of agency.

Hook stage price would make sure it cant be abused to create unwinnable scenarios like denying killer a hook by threatening uncounterable within pick up frame flashlight/pallet save.

Still remains optional for the survivors so it cant be abused by killers trying to win the game by slugging - survivors will be able to reset normally and keep the costly self pick up until they can't keep up anymore but in that case they would've lost the game anyway by now.

Would add more strategy to the whole interaction and won't outright kill it.

Or a more simple solution and give bleedout button so people can just give up and inflate killrates anytime they get slugged, lol.

Any match that ended in a 4k, the killer can easily bleed the last survivor out if they want to with no way for the survivor to give up or make it stop. They just have to lie there for 4 minutes and wait. DBD really doesn't respect the players time. Bleedouts when the match is already decided is bad game design.

The bleed out timer should be cut in half and when all four Survivors are slugged with no way to pick themselves back up it should be sped up even faster. They don’t want to hook? That’s fine, just let everyone die and the Killer loses out on the hook points.

If this happens often you should consider unbreakable or plot twist, sluging's puspose is a faster hook to gain preassure when you lack time to afford a hook.

If you get 4 man slugged against a 4.4 is because your team rushed for the save instead of doing gens and forcing a hook.

Usually I'd understand the annoyance... but in this case, you could say the killer just countered your perks. No deliverance into a DS if you don't get hooked.

All survivors getting slugged at once is entirely the survivors’ fault. Play better.
