When are Devs dealing with cheaters/hackers??

I don't want to play on pc yet because cheaters run rampant there when are the devs going to deal with them I don't experience many but it's not fair for the pc players.

Dealing with hackers is always an ongoing battle, in regards to hackers being exclusive to PC, because of how this game's crossplay system works, you aren't "safe" from hackers even on console. That being said don't let the infrequent appearance of a hacker deter you from playing the game

I was actually hacked while playing 2v8 and was following the killers around flying trying to get them to down me 😆. I'm on console too. I had to leave because I didn't want to get reported. But in any sense hacking is really strong now if its subtle or just intentional server disconnects. That was a question in their survey though so they must be working on it.

    Behavior doesn't care.

It's happening right now. Some hackers get banned. Holes get patched. New or old hackers buy new accounts and find new holes to exploit. Just gotta deal with it being a thing. It isn't exclusive to DBD, either, hackers exist in any game; nothing digital is beyond hacking, that's the simple truth.

Currently it takes over two weeks for BHVR to review vidoes of cheater.

Nothing will change because 95% of people are still spending money on skins or other things to increase BHVR revenue and THAT is the only thing BHVR care about in the end.

Cheat protection will not increase their revenue and that is why we have this situation.

Here is a recent video from Hens333 that shows very well how much power such people have in Dead by Daylight:

To be honest, I secretly hope that the situation will eventually become so bad that the developers will be forced to do something about it.

Like being pushed by your parents to go to school as a kid.
Like developers setting up server validation in a PvP game after more than 7 years.

Hackers will always be one step ahead, because they have the code to examine and exploit. DBD always play a chasing game to keep up with hackers.

I do believe DBD take hackers seriously. However, I also feel they take too long in responding sometimes, since some hacks seem to go for ages. Either that, or the patch is so basic that it's quickly exploited again. The spaghetti code doesn't help neither.

Also you can only hope to avoid them in console, there are Xim and Cronus users on that side, if you play with crossplay off and take the 30+ minute queues as it'll only place you with others that have it off on that platform.

I mean you're going to deal with pc player either way, i mean probably 90% of my games have 2 or more players who aren't on steam so high chance they're console players. I don't really get where this cheaters running rampant thing is coming from either, they really are not that common. I've seen maybe 10 in 3700 hours.

To be honest there aren't too many of them. I only see them once in a while if they get completely destroyed and randomly decide to let me fly in the sky to softlock me out of frustration xD

Outside of that it's pretty chill and perfectly playable, well of course I don't know exactly how many people just give themself a little bit more speed or gen speed xD

it would be easy to implement basic server checks that would prevent a lot of the cheating.

they don't even have to be live checks. the current instant kill bot wave could be easily stopped by basic sanity checks if an account wins to many games to fast.

There will always be cheaters in every game, it's inevitable.

The cynical answer is "when it starts losing them players", and cheating just isn't prevalent enough that the average player is affected by it.

Like some people have said, the game has a total and complete lack of sanity checks and live checks. If a survivor suddenly starts running at 110%, that should instantly get them banned, or just not be possible, but DBD is coded from the ground up as a Peer to Peer game that trusts the client way too much.

Rebuilding all the parts of the game to trust the server rather than the client is too big of a task and too much of an investment for BHVR to feel that it's worth it, I think.

Huge shame, because subtle cheaters aren't that uncommon in the higher MMR brackets thanks to how easy and risk free it is to do. How many players can say you're wallhacking when there's no replay system at all? How many can tell the difference between 100%, 103%, or 107% only when out of line of sight?

I have a good friend who is a small time streamer and he was being constantly stream sniped by cheaters doing the same thing that has been highlighted in a recent video we are probably all familiar with.

No matter if he went anon, changed his name or hid his lobbies they always got his lobbies and were ruining his stream. Thankfully they seem to have bored of harassing him every night as he is pretty strong willed and didn't let it show that it was bugging him.

I would like to see a solution to this as I am sure the actual streamers would too!
