Does Knight's guards suppose to follow survivors through passages on Shuttered ruins?

I can't understand why guards stop following survivors when they go through passage. Is that a bug or intended mechanic cuz I don' know

    Honestly no idea. I reported it as a bug and it was marked "Need More Info" and kind of left there even after I updated the bug report.
