Rods vs Cakes: Are They Working Properly?

Currently, if you use an Arcane Dowsing Rod, you get 100% more points in game for event scoring… events. If someone else brings a cake, those event points get doubled again. I had one game as killer wherein I maxed the event points and one of the survs brought an anniversary cake; I ended up with 100k event points.

However, if you only bring a cake instead of a rod, you will not get bonus event points in game AND the event points won’t be doubled.

So from what I can tell, the only way to really maximize points is to bring a rod and hope that everyone else brings cakes. Seems counterintuitive. If you’re in a SWF, you can coordinate different people using rods and cakes, but if you’re killer or solo queue, you’ve either gotta bring a rod and hope for others’ cakes, or bring a cake yourself and reward the other rod users.

I guess what I’m saying is that I would like to have my cake and eat it too.

    they should’ve js made the dowsing rod for all players, not personal and stacking. It makes no sense why a event only offering is personal and doesn’t stack.
