"Nerf Chucky!" How Bout No?

I had a feeling this would happen. Skull Merchant heavily complained about, later resorting in overly harsh nerfs destroying the killer to the point of next to no one wants to play her anymore. Now that Merchant is out the picture time to jump onto the next killer to complain about and destroy bandwagon. Before the Merchant complaints I NEVER came across "Nerf Chucky" posts and now I come across them more commonly than the "What killers do you hate going against most?" threads.

From my understanding when Chucky first released he received some nerfs which made his Scamper way weaker to the point of you can't even do it at all now as it was initially designed and because this happened quickly after release I decided to not buy him. Twisted Masquerade event this year roles around to which point the Good Gal Tiffany skin went on sale, I like Jennifer Tilly and upon realising she did voice lines for Tiffany in the game I bought both the Chucky DLC and the Tiffany skin together and played Tiffany throughout the entirety of the Twisted Masquerade event to the point of where I have put her in my 3rd slot of mains (Pig and Huntress being my go to's) I like playing Tiffany, while to me and my experience playing her I can safely say she isn't the strongest killer by any means. 110% movement speed with at best the Slice and Dice dash to get around a bit faster so this means large maps screw her a lot as you spend so much time walking to gens what may or may not even be on but that's a 110% issue in itself. Against smart players despite the no terror radius when in ability Tiffany still has voice lines like laughing and talking to which point strong alert players will just Shift W her to the point of even the Slice and Dice attack doesn't go far enough to reach them holding forward you have to just hope you can catch your opponent off guard which leads to my perk choices.

My go to build on Tiffany is: Unforeseen, Nowhere to Hide, BBQ, Agitation with Rat Poison + Power Drill. Yes a lot of Aura Reading but there is a reason for this.
1. Unforeseen: For the reason I mentioned earlier with the voice lines while in ability, when not in ability Tiffany is less likely to say voice lines so you are able to do that sneak up catch survivors off guard moment.
2. Nowhere to Hide: To combo with Unforeseen
3. BBQ: To encourage me not to camp, I'm not sure why people hate to go against BBQ so much because If it shows you aura the killer is more likely to go off and find another chase instead of camping
4. Agitation: I use this on pretty much all my killers, you'd be shocked as to how much time you save traveling to hooks and Agi definitely opened my eyes as to just how much time is wasted travelling to hooks without it.
5. Rat Poison: to add that extra aura
6. Power Drill: I like using her ability so this addon allows potentially more uses from it

As you can see, 0 Gen Defense perks something again Survivor players despise going against. I wouldn't exactly count Unforeseen and Nowhere to Hide as Gen Defense as for the most part these are just used for information which bare in mind Blast Mine is a commonly used Survivor Perk so this alone counters two of my perks and It was recently buffed. Now onto Tiffany's Slice and Dice, the ability I see commonly people say has 0 counterplay.

Slice and Dice can only really by design go forward or diagonally but that movement can be very predictive and easily avoided to the point of where even a survivor wrapping tightly around a tree or rock can take away the abilities strength. Then we have windows and dropped pallets, due to the Scamper nerf if Tiffany decides to vault a window or dive under a pallet she is stuck in animation to be able to only once again go forward or diagonally, meaning all the survivor needs to do is like a Hanzo ult in Overwatch to avoid it move slightly to the left or right and she completely misses. Like Pig with the "Rawr" she also does a "HYAAAAA" screech to alert you she's coming while in the ability.

"But the cooldown is so short!" Well it kinda needs to be. If she hits or misses someone with Slice and Dice she just goes back to being 110% with no ability all all for the 10 seconds, That's 10 seconds of potential Shift W leading to a next tile. Let's say you land both hits with the ability that's a potential bare minimum 20 seconds of chase with back to back hits. This isn't strong at all when other Killers have way quicker injure and down potential.

The only time new "Scamper" ever really works is at a tile where the pallet is in a narrow hallway or the Survivor player is a complete potato who doesn't realise all they needed to do was turn left or right. The topic I also see a lot is the "Chucky window or pallet flick tech" to be honest is it really a bad thing to have skill expression in DBD? It feels like whenever these cool techs are found (while unintentional) they are certainly not easy to pull off and looks quite impressive when It does work. Yet people want this removed? This is from my understanding quite rare to be able to pull off and those that do would have put time into figuring out what tiles It can potentially work on and what angles It can and can't potentially work on.

I feel because this can have a learning curve to it and not everyone being able to pull it off should be an indication of it staying as is. Take a look at Gears of War, a game series I have loved since release. Wall Bouncing was never ever intentional, it was a mechanic found by very very good players back in the day which again was something inexperienced players couldn't do. Gears then kept this in and has done ever since despite the complaints of casuals who claimed it was easy but could never actually do it, at least not properly and Gears thrived off it as a competitive shooter and added that bit more skill expression.

I enjoy Tiffany, it's why I adapted her into being part of my mains she is fun to play, her voice lines are so troll I love it "Hey! Don't piss your self already!" or once you killed everyone "Great effort everyone!" while not overly crazy strong and can create good looking plays, I have many clips and highlight footage of my Tiffany plays from stream. I think a lot of people in DBD don't know how to separate "This is OP!" and a player is just playing that character very well, heck it happens to me a lot on stream "You only won because you are playing a broken killer!" while ignoring all my strategies, plays etc to win that match, people genuinely believe a Killer can just do all the work for a player with their brain switched off.

Sadly to me It just seems Chucky is the next Killer to mass complain about as In my experience of DBD since 2018 I've seen a pattern of a Killer gets chosen as flavour of the month to mass complain about and as we know with BHVR they have a habit of listening to what gives them the most money and has the louder voice, because of the 4:1 this means Survivor voices are just heard more by default and always will. So once Chucky is nerfed (despite many nerfs already made to him) who would be next on the chopping block? Wraith? Dracula? Unknown?

You can also move backwards at loops with chucky, it's like the moon-dash from pig but with chucky (combined with normal slides that counters hugging loops or objects a lot of the time). The cooldown normally isn't as short if I remember right, normally the cooldown should start after starting the hit or even after you move normally again, it's bugged since they reduced it so it already starts while dashing xD

You're right the cooldown is bugged as far as I know, they nerfed the drill temporaly because there's a bug that starts the recharge sooner than it should. You already recharge while dashing but you should only do it after the dash I think.
