Muffled sound in trials
Anyone having an issue where literally all sound is muffled (sounds the same as when being downed with knockout). I am having this issue as both killer and survivor. Load into a game and can't hear anything further than a couple of meters away.

Yes I've had it happen a few times. I thought there was something wrong with my headset at first.

I think this might be due to a glitchy interaction with event smoke bombs, which I think also muffle sound.
Restarting DBD seems to solve it for me. Alternatively, I've heard that as survivor, you can reset the glitch by using another smoke bomb. Not sure about that though.

I've noticed this at certain angles repairing generators. It sounds like I'm underwater.
I was born with tinnitus and I hate it. The doctors first thought I had a mental disability because I didn't talk at age 5 but turns out all the wax in my head made everything I heard distorted as if I were under water.
Might be a bug pertaining to....sound occlusion? Sounds behind walls are supposed to be muffled a tad but I think that's borked right now

Bug - lingering effect from smoke bombs that can carry over into other trials. Try entering the effects of another smoke bomb if you can, that usually fixes it.

Yes, I thought it was a map issue. Had this happening all game on Mother's Dwelling. I could barely hear the gen when I was working on it and looking at a different angle. That entire match all audio-cue's were muffled.

As others have said, it is related to the Smoke Bombs. Basically, if you leave a Trial while under the effect of a Smoke Bomb, you will have this muffled sound in the next Trial. So when you escape, avoid throwing a Smoke Bomb right at the Exit. As Killer, try not to be in a Smoke Bomb when the Trial ends.
Can be fixed by going into another Smoke Bomb.

Has happened to me multiple times

Yes happened to me a few times and a friend. I'd describe the sound as very muffled, like you're in the Smoke bomb AoE, but it lasts all trial...
