The dog needs to move faster when running back to the killer, to prevent desync issues.
The dog sometimes desyncs from the killer because the game thinks it's next to the killer, when it's actually a bit away trying to catch up. This most often happens if the killer uses her power after falling, but can also happen if the dog has pathing issues.
The result is either 1) the dog doesn't actually make the full dash as shown on the killer's UI, because it's not starting at the correct spot, or 2) the dog gets confused during a chase command, and therefore doesn't run back to the killer at full speed, and if the killer holds W, then she's outrunning the dog and the cooldown gets stuck.

the dog doesn't comeback faster because that is how tracking tool works. you send dog out to gen and than dog come back within circle with killer instinct.
i think issue with dog in chase from playing it is that survivor can use LOS cover before you can use second pounce. so maybe his movement speed should be faster. she has purple add-on that increases dog speed by 40% but it only works when all 5 gens are completed. maybe that should just be base-kit or just work all game.
other than that, i don't have anything negative to say about this killer. she gets decent reward for landing dog and has good tracking. only dog is a bit slow and hard to use when there is a lot of objects in between loops.
you can sometimes use her power like artist birds, place a dog at point where survivor will be than take control of the dog to fire it. dog animation need work but it is ptb.

The dog only gets increased speed if it successfully completes a search or chase action.
Scenario 1 is the dog starts off next to the killer, isn't on a search command, hasn't been on a search command in a while, and still gets desynced because the killer dropped off a ledge, or did something else that cause the dog to have a pathing issue.
Scenario 2 is that when the dog has a pathing issue, it doesn't successfully complete its command, so it doesn't get the increased speed boost, which means that if the killer runs away from the dog, then the dog doesn't catch up to the killer.

sounds like bugs that they need iron out. my current issues is that dog's chase when you try take control of him feels ineffective. the player can very easily dodge the dog so I have been trying to use a purple leather harness add-on that makes so that dog chase is 20% faster but it only works for 20 second when a generator get completed.
the chain dog interaction seems only some usable for 20 seconds after you lose gens.
