The "shooing" animation is way too goofy

Now I know there are a lot of goofy things in DbD, but this one is just feels nonsensical.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'm referring to the fact that when a survivor wants to stop the bulky cane corso who is very loyal to the Houndmaster, the survivor just shoos it away? In what world does this make sense? All you have to do is replace this animation with a slightly altered Victor kick animation and it would be make a lot more sense.

But I get it. BHVR was likely afraid of backlash from a few weirdos on the internet who think kicking a dog that is attacking another human being somehow, through some screwed up perspective, is "animal abuse." Of course this isn't the case though. Not even close. Saying kicking a dog who is attacking you or someone else is animal abuse is like saying it's assault to fight back against trying to stab you with a knife.

However, if this does not convince some people, here is the cherry on top: you can smack the dog on the head with a pallet, aka, you can already hurt the dog. There really is no excuse to not change the animation at this point. It just comes down to whether BHVR takes the time to do it or not.

Lets survivors just boot the thing away.

I think they should instead of just shoo the dog away, push it away with a bit of force instead, nothing too crazy like the Victor kick, but way more believable than just a gentle pet.

A simple Punch to the nose would be make more sense than kicking.

The weirdest thing right now is that you are stuck in place for the animation, while the dog is still doing his dragging.

So you don't even shoo the dog away, but instead wave the air next to a dog that is biting someones arm off…

If it is cause we can't have animal violence (which is ironic... justice for Mikey's rabbit), kick sand/dirt in it's eyes or something...

Or have the survibor kick at the dog, and it always dodges and runs away.

His animations are clunky and goofy overall.

The sliding when he grabs someone cracks me up.

I agree. Legit any sort of force, such as a push like you said, would make so much more sense.

I agree with a missed/dodged kick or something, posing some kind of a threat to the dog to justify it letting go.

You don't even have to hit the dog, just have the survivor pull the dog off or push it away, physically separate it.

This is an M rated game. Survivors should absolutely kick the dog, and it should snarl back at them when they do before it heads back. It's a horror themed game, if you can't stand seeing a magic demon dog get hurt then you need to grow a spine.

I agree the animation is so uninspired. It doesn't even need to be anything aggressive towards the dog, even something like the survivor baiting the dog with food or a treat and throwing it so he chases after it would have been more creative.
