Dracula 8.4.0 PTB Changes

Hello all, My name is Grace. I'm a Dracula/Artist Main, with about 200 hours on Drac. I love this killer, everything from their power to their aesthetics to their animations. I wanted to take some time to go over the changes that were made, as well as some changes I'd like to see still

PTB Changes Reaction

______________________________________________________________________________________

Shapeshift Cooldown:

The change to Shapeshift's cooldown is perfect in my opinion. it allows you to still be proactive with your form swapping, using each form for the situation it is best at when the need arises, while making it less of an oppressive chase-down tool. You still have your cooldown back by the time you teleport to a window or by the time you have used Pounce/Hellfire. This change also allows for a bit more addon variety, as it gives more incentive to use Clock Tower Gears, an addon that was largely useless in Live.

Hellfire Cooldown:

Hellfire's cooldown nerf is completely fine IMO. the play loop of Dracula causes it to be largely insignificant, but it can definitely hinder people at lower levels. The cooldown change does also add more addon variety, as it gives more viability to both Ruby Circlet and Sylph Feather. I'd like to see some form of a compensation buff to Hellfire, preferably something along the lines of a Basekit Sunglasses (an additional pillar, at the cost of more charge time). This would allow for Hellfire to feel more powerful as a ranged projectile, while also keeping it somewhat in check, and feeling more rewarding to use and get good with.

Wolf Changes:

I think the changes made to Wolf put them in a perfect spot. Wolf feels very good to use, but still has the skill floor that makes mastering the form rewarding. The Scent Orb change makes Force of Echo less essential, while keeping its strength, and also gives more viability to the other Scent Orb based Addons, such as Wargs Fang, Killer Doll, and Cereberus Talon. The Charge time buff is a welcome addition as well, while not being too much of a buff to an already strong base. No notes, excellently done.

Addon Changes:

DISCLAIMER: THESE ARE MY OPINIONS, THESE ARE NOT CHANGES THAT ARE GUARANTEED TO GO LIVE WITH THIS PATCH OR EVER FOR THAT MATTER. With that said:

Medusas Hair:

Medusas Hair is an incredibly powerful addon in its current state. It creates lose/lose situations for the survivors affected by it, while requiring little to no investment from the killer. A proposed rework for the addon would be to remove the current effect of 15% Hindered, increase the radius to cover a larger area, and instead causing any survivor within that radius to scream. This gives it a bit of utility to the teleport ability outside of map mobility, and gives him some direct perk synergy, which he is largely lacking in due to his basekit being so broadly effective.

Lapis Lazuli:

Lapis Lazuli in its current state is a bit strong, giving you a free Bamboozle whenever you teleport to a window. While I enjoy the effect, I think it is a little too long of a block duration for checks notes doing what you want to be doing anyways? I propose a small duration nerf for Lapis Lazuli, bringing it down to 10 seconds from 15, allowing it to still be strong, while keeping it in check.

Force of Echo and White Wolf Medallion:

While I believe Force of Echo is still in a good place, and do not want to see its effect changed, I feel like thematically, it doesn't fit the flavor text or the name of the addon. I propose it be moved to Yellow, and give Bat Killer Instinct for 2 seconds whenever a survivor performs a rushed action. I also propose White Wolf Medallion be moved to Green, and given Force of Echo's current effect. White Wolf Medallion's current effect is borderline useless, so giving it an effect that is more thematic and beneficial feels a lot better to me, while giving Force of Echo a really nice thematic effect as well.

Wolf form was bad and is still bad, sadly. His tracking is non-existent and as a chase power it always have been worse than Hellfire.

If BHVR want the Wolf form to be worse than Vampire as a chase tool, its fine for me. Vampire only has his Hellfire so it should be better at chase. But at least make it worth at tracking, otherwise its not worth to use it. And even with these buffs, it will still not be worth.

Hold on now Grace they're gonna come for you for saying wolf is good LMFAO

I agree with all these takes. Wolf Form is in a good spot in the PTB and Hellfire should get something to compensate for its buffs.
