After going against this perk so often, the randomness of the perk has proven to be incredibly dumb or weighted with it going back and forth between 2 survivors on far too frequent a basis. Why is this even possible and I'm surprised I don't hear about it more, what solutions would you have to this issue

that is good because it allowed killer to efficient tunnel but it's rng so it might make you not tunnel as opposed to something like bbq that tends to be more reliable assuming survivor doesn't play around the perk.
You can enter a locker and avoid friend till the end. this shouldn't matter if killer goes between two survivors because shoulder of burden exists and everyone should run this perk.
