Based on what? License and Design, power design, perks or something completely different? xD

I think it has to be an S just because I believe Halloween is the reason DBD still exists today and didn't fade into obscurity.

Halloween, although was the first license, was the most chaotic chapter they ever released. 2 of Laurie's perks were completely broken and needed to be reworked multiple times, and nowadays, DS is still a busted perk.

Myers on the other hand was kinda better, having only one perk that was reworked due to being unhealthy (Dying Light). But speaking on his power, it is absolutely atrocious, making him the worst killer in the game... Unless he brings tombstone, which is a very unhealthy mechanic.

In that sense, the Shape sits in a terrible place where he half of the time can't do anything, and other half of the time he just deletes one survivor from the game.

And finally there is Haddonfield... A map so atrocious that had to be reworked twice for how bad it played.

Yeah, overall, Halloween was the messiest chapter.

This chapter will always be one of the best chapters to me. I feel it was the only reason DBD stayed afloat because this little indie game getting this horror icon, oh yeah, that kept it alive. His perks I LOVE, his power feels super good to me and I like the concept of the ability. Laurie's perks are good and she introduced DS, one of the best perks, S tier.

As long as the insta mori addons exist, it's bullshiet and I refuse to play against it

    OP's ranking: S tier

Originally I probably would've put this in B tier, but I think I've had a change of heart for this chapter in recent memory. Without this chapter there would be no Dead by Daylight today as when it first came out licensed content was seen as a very big deal, especially with this one with it being the first ever licensed chapter we got.

Is it outdated today? Yes. Were 99.9% of the elements of it problematic in terms of gameplay from Myers being outdated and weak to STBFL + Unrelenting being overpowered to Decisive and OOO being broken to Dying Light encouraging tunneling and to Haddonfield being a complete mess of a map? Also yes. But tbh, I really don't think it's that deep and I even think that that's kind of what made the chapter fun. It was just casual unbalanced fun while it lasted and people still love this chapter even through all of that to this day, so that's how you know that this was an absolute success regardless of the gameplay of it.
