Current State of Matchmaking and MMR
General Information first:
I've started playing DBD in August of 2023. In that time I've accumulated about 1500h in this game. I love this game and enjoyed playing it on both sides. I'd say for my amount of hours I'm a pretty decent survivor and maybe an average killer at best.
I know about how the individual MMR is constructed, how you get higher and of course about the soft cap and all that stuff. In my case, I think I reached that "protective" barrier at about 600h and since then games got increasingly more difficult which is totally understandable and acceptable.
In the recent 2-3 months I've experienced a total shift in my games - both survivor and especially killer. Solo Q is horrible as most of the community will agree with me, SWF games are easier, since you can communicate with your friends and make plays which need more coordination to pull off. Sometimes you loose, sometimes you win - all totally fine and how it's intended.
What I'm curious about is how it is possible to get totally obliterated in my killer games, 4 out of 5 games, don't matter the killer. If my MMR really reflects my level of skill, how is it possible that I only face survivor who are way more experienced and skilled than I am. Shouldn't MMR be there to match up people who are on the same level?
In my opinion the current system is horribly broken and it just doesn't match the right people up with each other. I'd be curious, if at my spot, I'm at a minority or if lot's of other people are experiencing the same problem. I don't mind loosing, but constantly getting outplayed is depressing and does not help me in any way to get better - it takes the fun out of the game if you need to sweat your cheeks off every single game to maybe get 4-5 hooks at best.
Appreciate the replies, take care everyone!
