Server Issues NEED Addressing
Just came across this video from Scott Jund
and it matches my experiences recently down to a T, particularly with regards to the server issues. I've been frantically trying since last October (some of you might remember my posts about server issues back then lol) to solve packet loss and stutters with absolutely no success because It turns out they're actually issues with DbD and I'm not the only one affected.Initially I thought the problem was on my end, because not a lot of people have been talking about this and I've had internet problems in the past. So I went through all the common troubleshooting with no resolution. Then I got in touch with my ISP and asked if packets were being dropped on their end. They investigated and even sent out engineers to check everything and found no problems. I tried replacing my router, ethernet cables, and other hardware. Still no fix. And got in touch with DbD support but nothing fruitful came of it.
After a couple of months I figured it must be a me problem somehow and I'd just deal with it. Then a friend played some matches after a hiatus from the game and told me they're seeing the same problems on their end. Packet loss during peak hours, random game stutters, and generally poor optimisation. Now I see Scott putting out a video with the EXACT same problems and lots of others in the comments having them too.
So, turns out it's not a me issue, and there's legitemately something going wrong with the game for a decent chunk of players. PLEASE look into this. I actually can't play from 6 PM because the servers get so bad.

For me, the server issues started after the Castlevania update. That's when I started to get the "disconnected from host" issues on occasion. To this day I don't play nurse in public matches because I don't want to take the risk that the server will crash after I use her power. It really has taken away my ability to enjoy the game. That's why when people talk about wanting to have tougher dc penalties, I kind of disagree because I sure as hell don't want to get hit with an increasing dc penalty because of something I have zero control over.
And I play online games literally every day. Doom, Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed, Elder Scrolls, Minecraft etc. The only one that has ever given me any issues is DBD.

When there's high demand on their servers the minor memory leaks become not so minor, and you run into the issues you describe. I don't believe it has ever been acknowledged.

That was around September last year I think? Similar time frame to when I started having the issues too.

Same here. Never have issues outside of DbD either.

Reaaallllyy hoping they acknowledge it soon because it’s becoming a big hindrance for me. Me and my duo now avoid playing during what we call “packet loss hours”, which is around the times Scott mentions. 6, 7, 8, 9 PM.

Oh this has been a thing since dedicated servers came out to varying degrees, so say 2018 or so. It just becomes way more pronounced whenever there's high demand on their servers. Things llike events or big chapters or peak playing times, or the upgrade to UE5 a couple of months back.

I noticed server issues all the time last year, but since the new year I can’t say that I have noticed any significant issues. Hope it stays that way

Servers were always bad, but since the winter event theyre much worse than before.

Yeah this is what I've been suspecting. Disconnects are worst right after chapter launches and during events for me. As for packet loss, it exclusively happens during peak play hours (i.e. in the evening when everyone gets home from school and work). I'm guessing they don't have enough server "bandwidth" (not sure of the exact terms) to cope with the amount of players they're getting, but clearly they don't want to shell out the money to upgrade them.
Sucky situation really.

Keeping my fingers crossed it stays that way for you 🤞

i cant even play because I have packet loss every game and 70+ ping. A year ago i never had this problem so im not sure what is causing it

Yep! Never used to have any problems and then last October I started having some issues and it's only gotten worse and worse since then. IMO their servers probably aren't equipped to handle as much traffic as they're getting and that's why packets are being dropped.
