Demogorgon Map Tierlist
Hello, hey, hi.
I am a Demogorgon main, with thousands of hours dumped into the Killer across multiple platforms (PS4 and PC, primarily PC).
After seeing Forum User Derpychicken623 make a Tierlist for Singularity, I wanted to make a Tierlist over my current thoughts of Demogorgon and how the current ecosystem of maps affect them.
Part of this was also because I want to see in the future if my thoughts hold up. The game can change a lot, and so can the maps, so looking back onto this in the future is going to be interesting. Also, as I spend more time in the game, my experience with Demo will grow and maybe my opinions will often shift with more experience.
Here Is The TLDR:
Breakdown:
S-Tier
The maps are rated based on multiple factors…
Most, if not all, Loops and Filler-Pallets can be played around using Shred to some capacity. The Main Building has Windows or Pallets that can be played around fairly well with Shred.
There is not enough strong chain-ability and direct line of sight is not obstructed Shred enough to feel "weak" in most cases.
The Map Structures and LOS can lead to Portals being leveraged to great effect. Portals can alternatively be used near Generators as slowdown to great effect.
A-Tier
These maps are decent, close enough to S-Tier but have some weird structures that are more difficult to play around with Shred. This is mostly due to weird Map Geometry and/or Map Structures that feature clips on the side of walls that you can get snagged on while using Shred.
Portal control is much harder than S-Tier but still manageable. Portals can alternatively be used near Generators as slowdown to great effect.
B-Tier
These maps have their own set of Pros and Cons that individually can make them amazing and awful to play on, thus earning them the most "middle of the road" ranking possible.
Weird Map Geometry and Map Structures that feature clips on the side of walls that you can get snagged on while using Shred plague these maps but there are still structures that Shred can be used to great effect.
The chain-ability of Map Structures and/or direct line of sight blockers can pose minor/nearly-moderate issues on these maps.
The only "redeeming" quality to playing on these maps is that Portals can be used near Generators as slowdown to great effect.
Generally in most cases, I feel indifferent playing on these maps. They are just "okay", there really isnt anything special or interesting about them.
C-Tier
These maps feature Weird Map Geometry and Map Structures that feature clips on the side of walls that you can get snagged on while using Shred, and make up a vast portion of the map. Alternatively, they also feature a large amount of slopes that can lead to your Shred being crouched under.
The chain-ability of Map Structures and/or direct line of sight blockers can pose moderate issues on these maps.
The only "redeeming" quality to playing on these maps is that Portals can be used near Generators as slowdown to great effect.
Due to the Weird Map Geometry and Map Structures, these maps are generally unpleasant to play on if the other team has some level of experience. It's not the worst experience there is, but it definitely isnt good either.
D-Tier
These maps feature Weird Map Geometry and Map Structures that feature clips on the side of walls that you can get snagged on while using Shred, and map up a vast portion of the map.
The chain-ability of Map Structures and/or direct line of sight blockers can pose severe issues on these maps.
Portals often struggle in every facet on these maps.
These maps will likely lead to frustration and anger, but there are at least some aspects of these maps that could, maybe, just maybe, bring some enjoyment.
F-Tier
Avoid these maps when playing Demogorgon.
There are basically no redeeming qualities, it isnt fun, you dont gain anything.
You are just better off pulling up Task Manager and closing the game during the loading screen if you see a Map Offering for these maps.

Reasoning for the strikethrough? Do those thoughts no longer apply?

They are just personal thoughts about the maps AFTER I ranked them.
They do not actively contribute to the rankings process so I crossed through them so they dont become the main focus.

Ah, ty.
I've recently let Trapper sit in the dugout a bit and try my hand at another killer. Settled on Drac, but as my wife is a Demo main, I had him in mind as well. I didnt think to comb through the maps to find shred spots, etc, so I think Ill give ol Demo a go and feel him out.
Thanks for this write up, actually quite useful. Bookmarked.

Demo has a lot more depth than people let on, granted, it's not the highest there is compared to other Killers, but I dont think people take full advantage of his kit of the various Techs that exist for Demo.
I will go ahead and say one thing, some maps DO have some really cool Shred spots, like for example, Badham had some cars you can slide against while using Shred, but when rating the maps I considered the totality of the Map Structures and Badham, despite having cool stuff, gets a lower rating, so dont let the ratings de-sway you from trying out new or cool things.
I do hope you enjoy playing them. <3
