Slugging Meta Vent/Thoughts

For the past week, I have played against a very popular slugging build that uses Knock-Out, Hex: Third Seal, Deer Stalker, and Caulrophobia (just to name a few). Matches take so long to finish, and I've spent more time bleeding out on the ground than playing the actual game. I'm just trying to figure out why there is no give up action if you have been on the ground for longer than (x) amount of time. Like, I want to play the game, and I don't want to kill myself on the hook just because I got hooked early etc., and leave my team down 1 person w/o a bot, and I also want my blood points. I don't want to be penalized for leaving a game that I want to play because I don't want to lay on the floor. If I wanted to play Slug Simulator 2025 I would just boot that up instead.

My biggest frustration with this is trying to get new people to play to keep the game and the servers thriving. It's so disheartening to hear from folks that I play with (both in solo q via chat, and playing with a group) how terrible the experience is. Even with perks like Unbreakable, I can only use them once. So I get myself back up only to be run down again and "humped" when I'm knocked down again. I'm not kink shaming, just stating something that happens A LOT.

Everyone can play the game however they damn well please. I'm not advocating to get rid of slugging, just maybe find a way to, I don't know, let survivors decide when to give up on the ground or something? Or adjust some of the perks so that they can be used twice instead of once?

This is just me venting, but I also want to hear from others about what they think about this? Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

    sounds like killer fixed go next epidemic by slugging. strangely, killer didn't ask for that. they got nerfed into that play-style with 60→70 second hook changes and perk nerf.

    Slugging is a product of SWF being OP combined with BHVR only balancing the game around SWF so much so that SoloQ is disgustingly awful. Killers are miserable since they get stomped in SWF matches or have to sweat, which leads to them playing comp in SoloQ matches to extinguish their rage from the SWF matches.

    Only two things would make this situation better, either balancing SWF and then rebalancing the game, or removing the DC penalty since there are bots. Neither of which are likely to happen since BHVR is pretty bad so it is what it is.
