Have certain players been abusing the infinite carry bug in 2v8?

I had a 2v8 game earlier as survivor where an Ash was walking around with a flashlight hiding nearby when other players got downed. The first time this happened to me, I got caught in the infinite carry position, and the Slinger who caught me was stuck in the carry animation as well until the Wesker actually downed and caged me.

Despite the bug happening, the Ace did it again to a Mikaela later in the match, then tried again near the endgame on me again, but the Slinger caught on to him.

Is this becoming a form of griefing where certain survivor players are just flashlight saving to get players stuck in the infinite carry bug?
