The downvoting feature is a terrible idea - please remove it
I can already see how this is going to play out. Any post or comment that is viewed as “pro-killer” or “anti-survivor” is going to get downvoted into oblivion. It’s simply a numbers issue - 80% of the players in any given match are survivors. Many survivor players have never bothered to play killer and only view things from the perspective of what makes the game fun for survivor players. There are many more of these types of players than there are players who have the perspective of both sides.
Mods - all you’re doing here is making the “us vs them” division problem worse. Every post now is going to be a competition of who can get the most upvotes or downvotes depending on whether the post is pro- or anti-killer. And you know who is going to win every single time.
Have you also considered the feelings of people who are inevitably going to have their posts downvote-bombed? This forum will become an even more unwelcoming place for posters with unpopular opinions than it already is.
It would be helpful to get some explanation from a mod for what drove this change. Who was asking for this? I’ve certainly never seen downvoting a widely-requested thing on this forum. What is the benefit of having this?

You mean all the comments about how stupid the opinion is, that you probably have less than 100 hours etc. are not worse than downvotes?
I understand where you coming from and this feature isnt really neccessary, but in my opinion we need to have a line between harassment and criticism. If we block everything out, it isnt a solution either.
Removing it wouldnt hurt and is probably better but just because it would be more work for the mods.

The forums literally used to have a downvote feature and practically EVERY single post would be like 70% downvote to 30% upvote. I don't really see much of a reason for them to reintroduce it when people were obviously much more inclined to downvote posts that they didn't like than upvote those that they agreed with.

I couldn’t care less about upvotes or downvotes, but some people do. This place becomes very unwelcoming for some if they see their posts being downvoted into oblivion because it’s an unpopular opinion. Is that the kind of place the mods want this forum to become?

I've already decided never to touch the down vote button.
I don't see any way it can be beneficial to discussions and I do feel a little less inclined to share my opinion because of it, even though I don't think I write much that would be considered controversial.

As usual leave it to bvhr to incorporate unnecessary things no one ask for. Like the unnecessary huntress buff that no one ask for? But am not surprised no more. Still funny how the mods are not answering about this, only rizzo so far.

This has played out exactly as expected. Anything that even remotely defends the killer player point of view gets a disproportionate amount of downvotes because a large portion of the player base never plays killer. I really have no idea what the point of this downvote test is other than tell us things we already know about the demographics of the player base.

While I agree and respect your point and not gonna make it the us vs them, I see it happening on both sides to be fair, killers downvoting survivor main topic or survivor main downvoting killer main topics.
I Mean I can say there can be people who never play survivor even though its hard to believe. Lets both hope it be gone asap though friend ^^.
We really don't need a reddit 2.0 which makes me think its people from said site doing it and not even the actual forum members.
