Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Killers saying "This July is when I stop playing DbD" "The new meta is not playing dbd"

Is this the same case for you too? The context is about the upcoming quality of life updates specifically the phase 2 between July - December.

Now I fear whenever the majority of killers decide to stop playing dbd, how would the devs deal with the wait times? I agree that these strategies are severely annoying but adding band-aid fixes is a sure way to make dbd one dimensional. What are killers supposed to do when slugging, tunneling and camping are taken away from them? I highly doubt that anyone is willing to go up against SWFs.

The queue times here is already dreadful whenever I'm playing survivors with my buddies. I can't imagine what will happen whenever phase 2 arrives. I'm not really looking forward to it.

YouTube comments, Twitter (X), Discord, Reddit, Steam. End game chat too the killers sharing their frustration. If so many people say this then I fear for the worst to happen. Maybe I shouldn't think too much about it and it could be an overreaction but a majority of killers saying this stuff? Yeah, I don't doubt it.

It was the same case with Destiny 2. Everyone saying they'll leave but like people told them "You ain't leaving stop lying" or "See you back in a week" then when that Final Shape DLC released, the majority left that game.

Sometimes people aren't lying when they say they'll quit the game. I think this is one of these times where they don't lie about it.

Bottom line is, if my kill rates drop due to the changes and it's no longer fun then yes I will quit until the game is fun again. I'd try to adapt and find ways to have fun and get kills before I consider to quit. It won't make much difference to me because I'm a Myers main. Stalk and mori, no need to camp or tunnel or slug.... Still survivors complain about me lol.

I do expect kill rates to drop for many due to the changes because many killers rely on things like tunneling to get kills (regardless of if it's skillful or not or if survivors find it fun or not). Remove the main method for getting kills and it will impact the kill rates and tip the scales. Unless killers can adapt like they did with the anti face camp or anti tunnel that currently exists. Or if killers get a big buff to compensate so killers won't need to tunnel.

I HIGHLY doubt the changes are gonna do anything to break the game. The devs saw what happens when you give survivor teams basekit unbreakable... they made hooking impossible. Stuff like the anti- facecamp doesn't affect anyone who isn't facecamping and I doubt any of the changes they DO make are gonna hinder gameplay.

On the other hand, I AM looking forward to the kb/m support for console as well as to see what they do for all the ragequitters.

Killers were always doomposting about any little change that coul not benefit them. And in 99% of the cases they were just making a ruckus over nothing.

To be fair, YouTube comments and Twitter have always been like that. Every comment there is how one side is severely overpowered and the other never gets any love. Or how BHVR is killing the game with every minor change. They are just toxic cesspools that you’re better off not sifting through.

This always happens with big changes. It's nothing new. There's a saying, "a hit dog hollers". The hollering has started.

Not so much cesspool, as small echo chambers. Most YouTubers/content creators have a preference for survivor or killer. I'm assuming OP follows or watches content creators who are more killer inclined, and therefore the commentary by said creators and their followers will also be killer inclined. So the "I'm quitting because of the killer changes" will seem alot more prevalent than they actually are.

Honestly, what majority though? It's all heresay until the updates go live and people actually put money where their mouth is. Until then I'd take everything anyone says with a grain of salt.

Besides if those types of killers can't play without hard camping, tunneling or slugging then I'd say good riddance to them. They weren't making the game fun anyway.

I'll drop this game like a bad habit if we get another killer who's power is a pain to use with a controller.
