Dead by Daylight suddenly only black screens and nothing fixes it
So my boyfriend and I wanted to play dbd together, and it worked fine the first week, now suddenly after 3 days of him not being on his PC, his dead by daylight only shows a black screen and it wont close after he opened it so he has to restart his PC.
When he waits too long on the blackscreen, dbd just crashes.
Methods we tried to fix it :
- Update Graphiccard driver
- Reinstall Dbd
- Delete DbD folder in %appdata%
- reset PC
- Run game as administrator
- restart PC
Nothing worked, his dbd is still black screening and we are out of options, maybe someone has a similar issue and can help us
He plays over Steam, has an AMD RX 7000 series GPU and 16 GB Ram, I dont know anything about his CPU

Try uninstalling the GPU-Drivers with DDU and then reinstall them fresh from the Website. I have a RX 6600 XT and sometimes it really does not like DBD and decides to not really work. Reinstalling the Drivers fixes it for me.
Usually I do it that way:
- Download Display Driver Uninstaller
- Download the latest GPU Driver
- Start DDU and follow the instructions (including letting it Restart)
- While PC restarts, remove the Internet Connection so that no new Driver is installed
- Install previously downloaded Driver
This usually works whenever I have an issue with DBD. But this is only my experience and from my experience it is always the GPU Driver and it HAS to be a manual reinstall in order to work for me.

Does this happen with other games? Just wondering if it's a dbd thing or a computer issue.
Recently I thought my GPU was dying, and then my CPU went belly up. Point being, it may look like one thing, but be something else.

Everything else is working fine, its just dbd that isn't working at all
