Do we have official DBD data?
Hello!
I'm a main Killer in DBD, and I'd like to know if there are any official "data" provided by BHVR that show the number of Survivors/Killers playing at any given moment for the following reason:
As we all know, most people play Survivor—"or so they say." If I search for a match and leave the lobby three times in a row, the average wait time to find a game as a Survivor is between 9 to 17 seconds. On the other hand, as a Killer, the average wait time is between 5 to 8 minutes...
Are there really that many Killers playing DBD?
I find this unfair for many reasons. As a Survivor, if you finish a match, in just 15 seconds you're already preparing for the next game, and within a maximum of 2 minutes, you're repairing generators again.
On the other hand, as a Killer, I sometimes find myself "waiting longer to find a match" than "it takes me to kill all the Survivors." It's starting to feel like a Lobby Simulator...
When I watch streams on Twitch, 90% of them are Survivors, which is the most common, and only a few play as Killers.
When I check SteamCharts, which only shows Steam data, I saw that there were 22,000 people playing DBD worldwide. Given my time zone, I imagine that in Europe there were approximately 4,000 players on Steam, not counting consoles—Xbox, PlayStation, etc.
Why does it take so long to find a match? I’d like to verify official data if possible.

BHVR occasionally releases data, and sometimes gives general indication of things during chats, but is there some broad, up to the moment, dataset that you can look at other than Steam? No. Right now I show 34.5k players.
They have said in the past that the amount of players on console exceeds that of PC, which I imagine also includes Epic games.
However, the question is not how many people are playing DbD, but the distribution of the roles. For every 1 killer, there needs to be 4 survivors. You could have a billion players, but the greater those proportions get out of whack, the longer the queue times are going to be. Most people need to play survivor for the game to function.
Killer queues are currently so long because of 2v8. It both pulls survivors from 1v4 into 2v8 and pulls a lot of players from survivor into killer.

Wow, as long as we do NOT have official data, we won't really know what's going on. Thanks for replying.
