Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

2v8 is slowly coming to an end.

Health and bug fixes are on the way. The DBD news cycle has slowed down.

How is your relationship with Dead by Daylight at the moment?

Holy hell when you put it like that.... Lol na that's steams estimate I highly doubt that many in actual game hours, the first year or so I played no stop everyday but that's because I had torn my right Achilles and was house bound forever. After that healed I work Tuesday through Saturday so I really only play on Mondays and Sundays aside from the occasional night sesh.

I had a lot of fun with 2v8 after bots were removed. I’m sad to see it go.

I’m kind of worried for the killer side with the allusions to “anti-camp, anti-slug, anti-tunnel”. I understand the desire to de-incentivize these strategies, but doing that without providing killers with other tools to help put pressure on survivors is just going to make fewer people want to play killer. We’ve seen what happened in the past when kill rates got too low. Survivor queue times became unbearably long during peak evening hours (at least they did where I live in eastern US time zone).

Having fun with 2v8, racking up BP and prestige levels. I feel good about the health update, but a little leery of the crowd that's gonna flood in with FNAF.

Same as it has always been. I've always had a love hate hate relationship with the game.

Same as it's been for nearly 3 years at his point. I'll pass on playing the 1v4. I will however come back for the 2v8 events, that's the only time I play this game at this point. I personally prefer a game being fun, not playing vs the sweatiest players in this game every single match. And I played the 1v4 for years that I got bored of only playing that mode. But they been trying new modes so thats good.

I’m on the same page, but the community managers keep dragging me back in The Fog. I logged in yesterday to redeem a code because the banner was so beautiful and played a little while I had the game open. At the end, I checked and I somehow only have one tomb challenge left in Level 1 and Level 2. I’m not very good at staying retired from the game if I’m going to gold a tome.

I’m definitely still sitting at the campfire with everyone, though. 🔥 If you got a wish granted for something drastic, what would that be?

I am in the same boat with 1v4. I really do not like putting my heart into a match only for someone to give-up when my team clearly has the advantage. I’ve started using Shoulder the Burden unstrategically on the first hook of the match to communicate with people “I am taking this match seriously. Please play with me.” but I also feel I shouldn’t have to do that just to get cooperation in a cooperative game. When other players see the effort I invest right away, I’ve had less games where people DC or throw the game when it goes sideways. But why does that have to start from my sacrifice?

Here lately I’ve been seeing a lot of balance discussions concerning DBD and it makes me want to take OTC headache medicine. The day has finally come where I have developed boundaries with this game. I thought I was a very dedicated player, but I’m not dedicated enough to argue balance on items and add-ons I never really used in my 5000+ hours, or will use in the future. I always play to have fun, and to make sure that other players have fun too. I want to clarify there is nothing wrong with being passionate about balance, but I’ve experienced a mental shift where I just don’t need that in my life. The people who know better/care can argue on my behalf, for me.

It would be cool if I could bet bloodpoints on the match somehow, so other players can see how invested I am to play and have fun.

Eh - dbd is mostly like that ex you really should just go no-contact with but their antics are still so absurd that you can't help but drop by every now and again.

2v8 was less glorious fun and more hilarious s* show than before. Maybe the novelty wearing off, maybe some of the stuff that's been introduced ( cough Legion cough) isn't exactly adding to the chaotic fun but more to the tedious side of it — but still more fun than your average 1v4 experience.

I'm glad it's over though; I do have other stuff to do.

Yep, still love the game despite occasionally getting a bit too frustrated with it.

I hope DBD keeps going for a while yet as there is still nothing else like it

I still love the game and play at least 4 killer games a day. My biggest wish for this game is console only crossplay. I'm getting sick of playing against subtle cheaters. I think they're a lot more prevalent than people think. I love how whenever I play against a serious "juicer" that wins every 50/50, plays every tile perfectly no matter what mind game I do and paths perfectly 100% of the time is always some private or level 1 profile on Steam or Epic. It's not even worth my time to report it because my perception is they're only getting banned if they're like flying around and stuff

Am ever hardly motivated to play unless I have a 4 man and even then if some matches like 10 of them is just sweatfest we switch games asap. Even with this 300 bonus that I want to make the most of to get my trevor to 100( currently 68) I cant seem to feel the drive. I can only see what the new changes come will do in ptb but I already feel its going to be very niche or just another cheap Elmore's glue fix.

I'm about ready to either end it or take a long break, but right now I'm on the grind to get Dwight to P100. (I just hit P82 today.) Once I reach the end, idk if I'll take that break or quit the game entirely. I might still keep up with news and such, and of course write fan fiction, but other than that, idk. I can think of more productive things to do with the time I currently spend in DBD, even if that's just sleeping, lol.

Man I forgot that 2v8 is ending today and not in a week at the same time as the PTB. As for me, I'm really not playing much at all recently, maybe a game or two every few days, sometimes a little more. Did all the challenges, got the tome progress I need, just taking it slow until the PTB. But even after it drops we'll still be 3 weeks from the update. I'm very much anticipating this next update, very curious about how many of the health improvements we'll be seeing in the next update, the new license, balancing, etc.

    Still as strong as ever.

I am going to miss the 400% incentive though 😓. It has tremendously helped me with prestige goals and getting my favourite characters further ahead.

My Survivor-Killer playtime ratio has been extremely distorted because of it so I'm eager to get back into the Killer flow again.

2v8 be like we have to bribe the survivors for them to play the game

The same. Enjoy the game, often dislike the ppl. We're currently on "hibernation" till the anniversary due to a certain factor.

Got my Legion to P69! Think I'll leave them there for a while and focus on prestiging Meg for a bit instead (She's only at P35, so needs to catch up).

Otherwise, I think I might take a short break. I'll see how my games go, but I dipped my toe back into 1V4 yesterday and got a Houndmaster and a Spirit with Franklin's, so I can't say I'm too enthusiastic to get back into all that any time soon.

But If I do play, I'll probably just play Killer tbh. I've been playing a lot of 2V8 Survivor, after all. After a rough start with the bots, I enjoyed playing the mode a lot it in the end.

My general relationship with DbD has been play DbD, take a break play something else, play DbD, take a break play something else, etc. I'm sure one of those times I take I break I just won't come back, but it hasn't happened yet. Even during breaks though I continue to consume DbD content; watch streamers and comp.

I really enjoyed 2v8 and put in a lot of hours. I'll now play some of the other games that are sitting in my stream library for a little bit.

On a monster hunter hiatus rn but I've never been so passionate about a game. Sad as it is to admit… DBD is one of if not the only pvp game I'm exceptionally good at... Been playing more survivor with my lady recently so that's been nice. 2v8 is fun but 1v4 is better, qol changes are good even if they're more survivor sided. Whatever it takes to keep the player base around I say. Excited for all that is coming this year and I feel like it will spawn a dbd renaissance. That's what I hope anyway, here's to another year of horror fueled fun everyone!

I kind of think this is a part of the issue for some players, some people wanna balance everything. I think this game by it's nature cannot be fully 100% balanced, so if they try to balance it as close as they can. It simply won't be fun for a lot of players. I think they should just keep focusing on making the game fun, and try avoiding this super serious competitive route that they seem to wanna take. But at the end of the day they are driving the train, we are just passengers. All we can do is wait and see what their vision is.

Had a blast with 2v8 as always, will likely only play occasionally now until next 2v8 or if the upcoming QoL changes actually makes a difference. For me the normal 1v4 mode started a down-spiral at the time of the winter-event, and I have not felt like playing 1v4 since.

I was on break before 2v8, now I feel it'll time to go back.

I played 1 match of 1v4 to dust off the old Invocation build, but our first chase down Dcd and then another Dcd when they saw me do the invocation

I chuckled as I got the authentic 1v4 experience

Really enjoying DBD at the moment! Game definitely seems like its moving in the right direction, and my sister and I really enjoyed 2v8 this time around (not that we didn't before, she just didn't want to try killer then). Very much looking forward to seeing the mode oneday become a permanent mode. I've also been derusting a bit with Deathslinger. Hitting those shots from afar is very satisfying! Aim is improving bit by bit and its a lot of fun. All in all, devs are doing a pretty good job so far, I'd say.

This 2v8 seemed better to me than the last two. The way that tunneling, camping, and being moried as the last survivor are all less common made me excited to play survivor again.

Then I played some 1v4 and remembered why I quit playing survivor. So my feeling about DbD depends on what role I'm playing for now. For me, killer is fun! Survivor isn't worth the headache.

I was never interested in tomes, especially after BHVR's writing got more and more…questionable.

I really couldn't tell you. I suppose I'll know if I see it, but I guess it'd have to be a dream license, a significant change to an upcoming license or seeing the game actually innovate.

Me too on a number of these things. I use games to distract myself from multiple major tragedies that have changed the course of my life in the last few years. At one point, I wondered if I was playing habitually for an unhealthy amount of hours. Something I've found useful is to ask myself why I play these games. Is it for fun? Is it an escape? What am I going to gain from it? Sometimes when things are too much, DbD is a nice escape. Other times, I find I don't need an escape and instead just wait to play when it makes sense. Anyway, I wanted to let you know you're not alone in sometimes needing to ignore the real world for a bit. And when that's needed, DbD is a fairly healthy escape, at least for me :)

Thank you, your words are very appreciated.

I wouldn't be breathing today without video games, a nig bold statement perhaps but non the less true, Zelda in particular got me through the 80's & 90's as a kid.

There have been a few incredible people on the way too, though many have since been lost by this world, but video games remain, I don't play nearly as much these days I work 100 hour weeks, (just a different kind of distraction admittedly) but video games mean a lot of different things to a lot of people.

Distraction & escape will always be my core reason but I certainly enjoy most of my gaming time or I'll switch to another game.

Dbd certainly has some weird connection with me as frustrating as it gets at times! (Both sides)
