About these new console bans

So now that the bans are in force, people are quick to threaten getting console gamers banned now.

Mrs JawsIsTheNext killer has just been told that that video evidence has been submitted after she accidentally caused a fellow survivor to get hooked. Now although there is nothing in the rules about getting banned for a misjudgement, a part of me is concerned that from the survivor's camera angle, it might have looked deliberate.

How long would it take before we can assume the report is rejected? If a console player is banned, are other users on the cole also banned? (i.e. me)

I thought we don't discuss bans on the forums. You want your question answered? Go ask a mod, good luck getting a response though as the average wait time can go from 3 days to a week.

I highly doubt the circumstances you are describing are going to get either of you two banned. I'd say just keep playing as normal and assume that you two have nothing to worry about?

You are allowed to sandbag to save yourself if you wish so even from the survivors angle it won't result in a ban as it's a one off video.

In any case they would need to show them working with the killer for a longer period.

We've had bans for a long time and we get threatened constantly. Just ignore it. You haven't done anything wrong.

I assume that means that they don't discuss the circumstances regarding people who are actually banned for whatever reason, but perhaps I am mistaken?

AFAIK sandbagging isn't bannable unless it's happening consistency over a period of time. So even if you did it intentionally it doesn't matter unless you keep doing it to that person every game you see them.

@JawsIsTheNextKiller i wouldn't sweat it. Im sure you will be fine. Can imagine the amount of reports for tunneling and camping they will get. I feel bad for anyone looking through those reports.

Thanks everyone. You've set my mind at ease. This is why I don't have my own messaging switched on. If survivors are threatening to get their team mates banned, I can only imagine how they are with killers.

Who care about people threatning you with a ban when you did nothing wrong?

If anything if they do report people for non bannable thing to often they will get themself ban.

@JawsIsTheNextKiller you have to remember this is the same community that constantly complains about NOED, DS, BBQ, Self Care, SB and whichever flavor of the week you wanna pick. Salty is what this player base is all about. Have fun enjoy the game and don't worry about anyone threatening you with bans.

I had to disconnect yesterday (I was playing killer) because I had to go out for lunch to the grandparents, I hoped I could finish the match before leaving but the family I'm staying with decided to leave earlier. Easy to say one guys messaged me saying "Reported", so yeah I'm kinda scared as well. But overall I think that console bans are a good thing

As long as you don't make a habit of it, I doubt they will do anything.  The devs aren't going to ban someone for a single disconnect that could realistically have a number of different explanations for it.

From what I hear, console players are in general more childish (not that you can't meet such people on PC...). Yet the same ban rules apply to them as to us PC players. So no, all you have to do when getting messages like "enjoy your ban noob" is smirk and move on.

I only report people who message me. Meaning I don't ban in game as I don't really face a lot of toxic players. I just face people playing the game.

Just return with... "False reporting can get you banned." Then tell them to go look up the ban rules.

Then laugh at them and leave.
