Do Graphics Settings affect performance significantly?

I'm on PlayStation 5 and I have been playing on it since August with the console settings set to 2160p for screen resolution.

A lot of YouTube content suggests that PC Players should set their graphics to low to get better performance, is this true for consoles too?

I changed the PS5 to output 1080p this morning and the game feels so much better!

I'm not sure if this is normal or perhaps there's something wrong with my TV.

What is your optimal way to play DBD?

I play on ps5 mostly myself and have the highest settings and it the game runs smooth and is why more clear than when I do oc dbd. I have a solid rtx 4060 graphics card yet even though the game runs smooth, the quality is bit bad and I notice strangely pretty load screen it slightly slow downs when doing the initialize part(pc) it's most likely my monitor though since it's not 4k or HD like my TV is. I do not think reducing the settings on console will make performance any better specially if your ps5 is using a good side which I don't have.

Considering the PS5 is a beefy console, I don’t think the performance is heavily affected regardless of your settings.

The thing with PC is that there’s no single standard to base settings on. Some PC’s can handle ‘large’ games like RE with ease, whilst others struggle with lighter games like, say, Terraria.

While my own PC can technically handle DbD on the highest settings, it tends to make my GPU run very hot, so I’d rather just keep it on medium settings.
