Cross Progression error

I've been playing dbd on Playstation for almost a decade. I just bought a PC and I wanted to play there (brand new Steam account) so I tried to do the cross progression between PS5 and Steam. I successfully linked both accounts and then tried to merge them. Apparently it worked out but when I opened the game on Steam, it showed a brand new account just like before and on my Playstation it showed my normal account just like before. It's weird because even though I did the cross progression, everything is just like before. I even got an email saying the cross progression was done...
