How will the new lore be handled?
In the dev stream today, we got told the archives will be retiring and the tomes will be where we access the lore of the previous tomes 1-22. The devs mentioned that if you haven’t completed all the old tomes before this, all the lore will be unlocked upon the update going out.
This begs the question, what happens with the new lore? Are we going to be unlocking it like usual? Is it going to be unlocked right away? It wasn’t made all too clear in the stream what’ll be happening with tome lore going forward. And as someone who enjoyed earning the pieces of the story, I am a little bummed out that we might not be getting that satisfaction any more.
I’m just confused and wondering how this system will look going forward. I’m very excited about this change and looking forward to it, just a little confused is all. Maybe when we get closer to May’s mid chapter we’ll figure out more but for the time being I am a little worried.

Assuming we're still getting lore at all, considering how alot of people don't really engage with the lore past the base lore because it was locked behind archive challenges, this makes it easier to do so now to do so with the tome lore as well.

Well, that's disappointing news. Did they say why the archives are going away?

Basically to just streamline it and make everything smoother. Seems like they’re moving away from the archive challenge system in favor of quests in a similar vein to Fortnite and other games like it.
So the archives will be leaving and you’ll have the rift be in one area and to access the lore and tomes in a different part. They mainly just got rid of the archives tab and are recalling it the Rift Pass

indeed sad news I quite enjoyed the challenges, and gave me reasons to switch things up. Interested in seeing how the removal effects gameplay though seeing as that’s the numero uno complaint about them on the survivor side “throwing for challenges”. Things -might- get spicy.

That’s a good point. Hopefully this easier version might get more people to interact with the lore cause it’s really interesting. If we can’t unlock lore anymore, I may be disappointed but at least the lore will still be there to read.
I’d also be surprised if they straight up stopped giving us lore when there’s characters who’ve been in the game for years and haven’t gotten a tome story like Jeff, Adam, Felix and Élodie. They’ve also gone out of their way to make sure people have access to all the previous lore the game had to offer, so I don’t see why they’d stop
