Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

This one is about elevation and i agree with you on. It should probably fizzle going up like it does when it goes down. But this is more likely a bug rather than an inteded interaction.

As someone who uses controller, I am in favour of making killer powers easier to aim and use on controller. My initial experiences playing against this killer have been really brutal, though.

I'm open-minded about whether there's some strategy that I'm not getting, but the play cycle so far does not feel great (and isn't helped by having people give up on hook or go AFK).

I think it's possible that the counterplay to this is extreme stealth but, if that's true, I hate it, because I don't enjoy stealth at all.

Why you agree when there are elevation and not the other case?

They're exactly the same thing but vertically instead of horizontally.

Because the other case you showed me was from the survivor POV, and again, you are forgetting that its HITSCAN attack. Meaning that if you see the teeth and click the button, it happens on the next frame and the animation just doesn't line up. On the killer side of it, they probably clicked the button when part of the survivor was showing.

I'm torturing myself with Lery's offerings right now and holy ######### it's miserable as Ghoul (as expected). Hard to confirm a down since you can't really cut off people and you're stuck as an M1 killer. Even worse with the MFT meta right now.

I really hope that map gets a look at some day. Some of the pallet + window setups are disgusting.

I actually just had a game where i have a good example of a hit that looks really bad, but when you slow it down and look at it from the mindset of it being a hitscan attack, it makes a lot of sense and you can clearly see why it happens.

I'll upload it later and ping you on it. I'll agree that it looks bad, but the problem is not the attack, is that the animation does not line up with the fact that its a hitscan attack. The animation makes it play like a demogorogon lunge for example, but in actuality its like a CoD sniper attack.

As killer, he's one of the most fun killers they've introduced in my opinion. However, on the survivor side of things, he is definitely on the strong side and needs to be toned down a bit. The auto aim needs to be toned down a bit, so many hits that even as a killer I have to admit should not have hit at all, but the game allows it? Personally I don't know how much has to be fixed other than that because I feel like so many of his issues comes back to "it's way too easy to get that initial hit."

the killer is fine. just needs some simple changes. smaller hitbox, 16 meters max range, slightly longer cooldown before they can swing after cancel their power

Overrated for sure. I'm looking into the future and I see The Ghoul being meh once the inevitable nerfs arrive similar to many other Killers before him.

I feel like he might be fun to play as because it can be an easy win but i don’t find it fun to play against. I’m not the best player ever but I believe a longer cool down is needed. The fact that he is able to hit you twice within seconds and he’s able to travel across the map easily is just a huuuge advantage. It’s almost impossible to win against him and it’s too easy for him to be able to camp gens/hooks. I honestly give up as soon as I see him because we can barely get 2 gens done and he’s already killing all of us. I feel like it definitely needs to get fixed there is no fun on going into a match and it lasting 5 minutes. Maybe make his power disappear for a period of time after hitting you with it or shorten the distance he’s able to travel across the map. Even the nurse has a cool down but him no matter how much you try to evade his hits he gets you within seconds.

Ive enjoyed playing as Rize so far, picked it up quite easily despite barely trying it in tbe ptb. Played about 6 rounds and won every time, even the adept was on the first try. But i noticed people are kinda miserable going against that killer so ive stopped playing them till the hype dies down or some nerf comes along to make people less miserable playing against them.

on survivor i noticed hes in every 2nd round and Ive escaped from him about 30% of the time in random que. The free hit thing does'nt bother me so much as the way he always tends to be able to hit you before you can reach the pallet/window but then again it was satisfying on the other side.

Since Rize was one of my favorite anime characters ill never have a reason to swap to Kaneki and i plan to make her my 5th p100. Just avoiding playing her until all the hype and negativity dies down. (It would suck to get used to how she plays and then have her nerfed)

Experience as: "YEAH IM SPIDERMAN!!! im zoomin! wait…that hit?" i then proceed to win

Experience against: "HOW DID THAT COUNT AS A HIT!!!?" and also The hardest tunneling i have ever seen in the 8 years I have played this game. I had to take off perks I enjoy running just to run anti-tunnel perks. I regularly get my DS, off the record, and dead hard off in every match. Between the absolute misery of being hard tunneled every game, and the fact that it is only ever this killer right now. I have sworn off DBD as survivor and playing the ghoul to give people a break. i will play during the blood moon event for the cosmetics, but once those are done im gonna avoid DBD for at least a month.

A few days in and it's still miserable going against this killer

As the killer: His map traversal feels great. The 2nd hit with his power - when you need to jump and bodyblock - is not that easy as it looks. He is strange: sometimes you think you will slide but you just bump into something.

Playing against him: the first hit is way too free; he harms survivor way too easily and still has big mobility to catch up after a hit. Also, why putting people on meding? DH, OTR and other perks that would be great against him get no use since put you in deep wound for free.

SoloQ against him IS MISERABLE, since you need to be always coordinated and in the right position or will be downed. If you are not so coordinated the match will be miserable.

I hope they tone down the first part of his kit without harming the concept, which is great.

PS: Some people want BHVR to "Skullmerchant" the Ghoul, nerfing him to be a weak killer. I don't agree in any form with it. Just small tweaks and he will be fine.

I'm surprised no one is commenting on it. They need to check on his poor blood point gain.

Otherwise, I feel his power is only useful for cutting distance, as long as you stay in a structure he is just another M1. No matter how well you use your power, you're not going to get a down with it. Even in a small and insecure loop the power has no use at all.

If you lowered your mmr you would be absolutely shocked at the amount of people that will not take body blocks, and let someone die even when they have no hooks, when they’re not on gens. Night and day teamplay difference and night and day results. Results vary widely depending on team play and personal play. Idk how’s he’s doing at the very top(against skilled 4mans) but in the rainbow -middle to center high - it’s boiling down to teamwork how it goes. Good luck out there in the fog!

Yep - anyone who says 'I don't get the big deal about this killer/he is bad' has only gone against Ghouls that are new to killer or new to this killer/trying some challenge. A high MMR Ghoul who wants to win is very difficult to beat even with full counter builds and SWF. The frustrating thing after the free hit, is even if you can make it to a loop, the killer is able to use their power to lose collision with the survivor and block window/pallets before you can really do anything. Additionally, you can't really body block against this killer which kind of sucks when they choose to tunnel and you are trying to play altruistically. Don't get me wrong - I love that they added another high mobility killer and he seems insanely fun, but he does need slightly longer cooldowns and perhaps punishment for 'missing' such as Wesker (like others have said). I have also seen the killer not get stunned by pallet drop because he was mid animation - this cancelled animation and let him insta-hit someone (with confirmed no perks or add-ons to reduce stun duration). Great idea to shake up meta plays, but definitely needs some adjustments to make him fun for both sides.

That’s rough. Thank you for sharing. Yeah grows stale after a while 🥱. I’m feeling very calm spirit and small game today. Is that weird? I mean those perks suck! Sorry I was deviating from then normal survivor programming, must be a glitch.

I have roughly a 50% escape rate vs ghoul. I’m running MFT and pre-running earlier than I would against other killers and it doesn’t seem too bad.

his hits are hit scan not projectile meaning the server reads a connect instantly even if your around a corner.

Played few hours on stream only went against 2 ghouls which surprised me expected to see more
both were ruined by team mates
the first one against him two of the survivors were trolling an blocking me an the other person in trying to hold us hostage
second game 1 of my team mates dced after 3rd gen popped an the other 2 hid in the basment for some reason..

haven’t read everything but as far as i can tell he is regarded as a very oppressive Killer - Funkbild enough I have been getting more escapes against him than getting killed and even when killed its usually a pretty even match. There is definitley some dumb bugs (hit through wall etc) and he has a strong Kit with mobility and quick to injure and i agree he needs nerfing.. but my personal experience (probably Players that still learn him) has been pretty fun

That was a very unexpected surprise for me that yestarday i meet only 3 ghouls.
    1st escaped, +4
    2nd escaped +3
3d kill all of us. -4

And the last match i played was with doctor for like an hour, jsut because of 4th teammate who just came to your gen and miss the merciless storm, and when doc came he kicked it, and then this dude failed overcharge every single time.
So that was a miracle that we escaped +2.
After that i dont want to see doc with MS and overcharge ever again.

Was an artist +4, a freddy -4, and legion +4.

So when i see comments like you cant do anithing against the ghoul i just think that is skill issue, cuz for some reason its not that hard to confront the ghoul, harder to survive his tunneling if he decides to do it.(OFC if you have team to confront)
