Let's lighten things up a little bit
I've been seeing a lot of negativity in this forum, and for good reason too. So I'm just going to ask yall a question not related to ghoul nerfs or skull merchant reworks or anything like that. If the FNAF killer isn't Springtrap, will it be? Also, let's try to keep this post as positive as possible please? Thanks!

I’m not well kept on the big bads of the franchise spring-trap is honestly the only killer option I can think of

If not springtrap we'd guess the white rabbit (can't remember the name), or one of the Freddys.

I'm not too interessted in the story but I've never understood why people even think of springtrap in the first place. I always associated fnaf with freddy or Foxy or even with with chika or bonnie, it honestly doesn't matter with of the original characters - I wouldn't ever have thought of springtrap, especially because fnaf 3 was increadible boring for me as well as springtrap himself xD
Long story short, for dbd foxy would be the most viable I think xD

I feel like it'll be Springtrap just because he'd be the best representation for the franchise.
Kinda like how Ken Kaneki is the face of Tokyo Ghoul; maybe another killer would have been "better" but morphing Ken into a killer was the only logical choice. I feel like it has to be Springtrap.

I also think Springtrap is overall the best choice. I guess from a lore point of view, choosing new gen villains like the mimic could make sense but it's probably worse for marketing to not have a character everyone knows, even people that have grown out of FNAF years ago like me. (I only vaguely know the lore because people like MatPat are doing full timeline videos but it's still super convoluted)
He's basically the only character everyone knows and has been the main FNAF antagonist lorewise for at least a very very long time, so hardcore FNAF fans are happy.
To be fair tho, I might get my hopes up, but if Scott really has a heavy hand on the making of this DLC, we could expect way more exotic and surprising stuff. Like Springtrap as the main killer, but also aided by the mimic, they both exist in recent FNAF lore like in Security Breach no ?
It might be a chopped idea but they could actually release legendary skins for each main original antagonists (Freedy, Chica, Bonnie, Foxy). I swear people will buy every single one of these legendary skins. I guess a better universe is like these 4 are like passive threats around the map plus spring trap the main killer.
I honestly have high hopes, I am not a super FNAF fan but they have to make it big this time.

There's no way it isn't Springtrap. Like literally no way.
But I'll play. Let's say it isn't.
In that case, it either has to be someone iconic enough to be recognized by anyone, in which case it should 100% be Freddy since the game is called Five Nights at Freddy's and he's been the face of the franchise since the very beginning;
OR they could go a weird lore-oriented route and pick the Mimic. Since many of the newer games revolve around it.
But like I said, there's simply no way it isn't Springtrap because he's iconic enough, he has the lore relevance, and most importantly, he's what FNAF fans want. Everyday I see the community be like "what if the killer isn't Springtrap tho" and everyone loses their minds until they remember there's no way it isn't. The killer being anyone else would actively work against the main purpose of the FNAF chapter: to bring a bunch of new players into the game.

Springtrap is the main big bad of the entire franchise, and one of the few fleshed out characters.
Every villain ties back to him.
Circus Baby/The Funtimes: His murder bots, one of them possesed by his daughter.
Golden Freddy/The OG cast: His victims
Vanny: His copycat and servant (also she was cut from every game she was in so she has a personality and impact of a wafer)
The Mimic: Copying him, and also a shoehorned in character from the books, recycled from other characters that came before.

All my friends want Roxanne, I'd love foxy for blight, really looking forward to the legendaries this chapter brings. I also can't wait for the mori, I hope it has the fail music before they get you.
