Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Why devs ignore shrine of secrets? (new player problem)

With all these future changes to help new players… why totaly ignore Shrine of Secrets? That's like trying to stop fire in your house but you only focus on your chair in the backyard.

Shrine of secrets is outdated by a mile. Every 3 months new perks get added and you just get random 4 perks from ANYONE (not even DLC characters only) for a week. It should be MINIMUM of 8 and 4 of each side and no base characters.

New people will drop this game once they realise how much grind, perks (and characters) are locked behind money and grind.

I try to get a few of my friends to play. But they refuse because of how unfriendly the game is to new players. There needs to be an update for the shrine of secrets and something to make new players more welcome in general

My friend refuses to try this game thanks to its heavy DLC locked content.

yeah, I used to argue that this game wasn’t pay to win. But at this point it is very much pay to win. Hopefully they do something by the time fnaf cones around to make life a lil easier for the new players

Yeah at this point you have to buy licensed chapters for the perks even if you dislike the characters and don't want to play them.

My suggestion on how to improve it:

    1. Perks from characters available from the start do not appear in the Shrine anymore.
    2. Double the amount of perks available in the Shrine (there are now 8)
    3. The price of perks no longer scales up if you already purchased the Tier 1 of a perk, and instead stays at 1000 IS for the Tier 2 and 3.
    4. Purchasing a perk you arleady maxed out now gives you 1 million Bloodpoints.

At this point and considering the huge amount of perks the game already have, they should remove the Shrine of Secrets and just let us buy any perk with iridiscent shards. The only exception maybe the ones of most recently released characters.

The number 1 change that the shrine needs is for it to be personalized. Waiting each week just to get duplicate perks doesn't feel good. Also either lower the pricing of unlocking tier 3 perks or get rid of tiers in the shrine.

This, except I don't agree there should be a limit. If I want to spend 3000-4000 shards on getting all 3 perks on a new character (without buying the character) I should be able to. Even as a survivor main who has disposable income, I DON'T WANT A NEW SURVIVOR. They're all the same, and I have enough. I just want the perks.

If there's a legal reason you can't do that for licensed characters, that's fine, but AT LEAST do it for the original ones.

edit: Heck, even if it's actual money, give us a "Perk only" purchase option.

I am cynical about it and I hope it's not true but I think it's because they know a lot of people will buy characters they don't want just for one perk instead of waiting in the gambling house and it makes them a lot of money. Even when the perk you want show up, for new players it's not worth it to buy it as is since it could be reworked in the future, so really you want to only buy characters themselves with iri, and spend money on licences.

I am not sure how you can not update such an outdated heavily criticized feature for so long except that there is malicious intention somewhere. It is kind of like a common sentiment on the "why nurse is still not reworked" ⇒ "because they need an excuse to say the killers are not P2W".

I wish it was not true and I do have hope they are going to change it. I do have goodwill towards BHVR after the efforts they are doing for the FNAF chapters. 👍️

The whole perk system is obsolete, the game would be more accessible (and better) by completely removing it. This is intended to be a party game where you can hang out with friends, but it has as much farming as a MMORPG. They also give the impression that the DLCs are a P2W and not just new characters to play with.
