Uncapping FPS
Can you get banned for altering frame rate in config files?

Well before a lot of people did it without getting banned. But as far as I know there's a hardcap on 120 now anyways, you can't increase it anymore anyways xD

One of those "do at your own risk" type things AFAIK, like custom perk icons. I don't believe EAC or the developers actively seek out to ban people who do this (that would be pretty silly IMO), but the developers' stance on these kinds of things back in the day was "we won't actively ban you but if EAC flags you for it, we're not going to help you get unbanned." and I don't believe they've made any recent comments on it (so I'd assume this is still their stance).
That being said, I've been playing the game since 2016 and have never heard of anyone getting banned for uncapped FPS, custom perk icons, etc. so make of that what you will.

As of a couple of days ago you absolutely can, that's why I am asking. Currently, I haven't seen anyone banned for it, but as it's only been a couple of days, I wanted to ask devs about it.

Yeh this is kinda how I would approach it. However I was just wondering if any dev would confirm it is fine like they did with reshade.

It's probably just bugged then, isn't it? xD

Why? You can adjust them in the settings.
Besided, the 120 hard cap was put in place because it caused issues when set higher. If you are able to increase it higher after last patch then you may experience bugs.

Correct, there were some issues with broken animations. Though, the cap could have been raised to 144 fps just fine.

I'm not sure what you mean? As of right now there is a way to have uncapped frames as long as your pc can support them. The only bug currently present is that your character (killer or surv) runs slower if your fps drops lower than what you have it capped at. This just means you should cap at whatever frames will be stable for you.

I don't know what you mean? You are now able to add lines into config files that allow you to uncap frames. Not sure how this is a bug.

eh, tell me more about this bug. Wouldn't the opposite be true in that case?

I don't know what there is to tell. I don't understand the reason but when you get framedrops, your character is very slow

there is no point in using the config file as dbd maxes out at 120 fps whoch can be changed ingame .
