Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Should Major DBD Events Replace the Normal Mode Instead of Splitting the Playerbase?

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to open a discussion about something I've been thinking lately.
Back in the old days of DBD, when there weren't many events, whenever an event came around, it would completely take over the normal game mode. You would just play the event version without having to choose between Normal or Event modes.

But nowadays, since we have more events, every time an event happens, the game splits into two modes — a Normal Mode and an Event Mode.
While it's great to have variety, I feel like this actually divides the playerbase unnecessarily.

Personally, I think the major events — like Chill Bones, Halloween, Bloodmoon, and Anniversary — should completely replace the normal mode when they are live, just like it used to be.
Meanwhile, smaller events — like Lights Out or Chaos Shuffle — could stay as separate modes on the side.

This way, we keep the matchmaking healthy during big celebrations and really feel the atmosphere of the event across the whole game!

What do you all think? Would you prefer that major events become the main mode temporarily, or do you like having a choice between Event and Normal?
