About banning ReShade for the game.

Eh…
I thought Gamma Adjustment coming to the game would make ReShade obsolete, but please look at this.
The guy is playing with 5 perks. With this filter he basically have WoO for free.

Reshade should go or console players need an option to play only with console players, not that feature we have now that if you turn crossplay off you'll only match with others who are only on your platform and also have the setting on.
Gamma is more or less a brightness setting.
No shade to anyone using it, I see the benefits.
However, this is a crossplay game and although we can never completely bridge gaps between PC and Console or even console to console (PS5 vs Switch for example), that doesn't mean we shouldn't strive to make it as fair as possible.

My thought exactly! 😍

That's not what WoO does.
WoO only highlights pallets and windows that are not visible.
These slightly more saturated pallets are only visible when in line of sight.4 -
Re Shade is a lot more than just that. It is legit a competitive advantage with everything it does. Using it is technically cheating. It isnt nearly as harmless as some make it out to be.

I would not really say it is WoO. WoO shows you the aura of pallets, but does not make them more visible when you see them. And the person is also not really using it as WoO, since they are barely looking around for Pallets.
However, I also think that Reshade should not be allowed. It gives an advantage and the DBD-Community is notorious to make them game as ugly as possible for a slight advantage.
"But bro, it just looks better"… Yeah, shut up.

I believe it was forbidden in tcm cause family was using it to find victims for 0 skill even though they had grandpa for help. I never like this about pcs when it comes to pvp games. Pve now fine. Now when I think about it its no wonder why if a killer does not even have information perks they still know where people are.

people be having the most crunchy looking screens just so they can have that little bit of an edge

Yeah, I sometimes go against streamers and when I look up their name, my eyes are destroyed immediatly. It was even worse with stretched res, I have faced a Blight-player where his Blight was wider than tall in the Lobby.

Yeah, I remember when people said the same "it looks better" thing about stretched res, which was even more transparent and absurd.
People are obviously free to do whatever is allowed within the constraints of what is deemed allowable by BHVR, but I personally take a pretty dim view of changing the aesthetics of the game in any way that confers any sort of advantage, even just cranking up the brightness/contrast* (and ReShade is toward the extreme end here).
Especially if the ability to do so isn't available on all platforms.
Certainly, if I were to lose a game to someone using such things I wouldn't take that loss seriously, and I don't know how they could take the "win" seriously.
But all in all, these sorts of inconsistencies are just another one of the myriad reasons not to take "competition" in this game too seriously.
*unless the player has an accessibility issue that necessitates it

Same here. ReShade in a game like DbD IS cheating.
People could argue that Crosshair is cheating, but this is something that you can have by literally scratching your TV or using duct tape on the screen to make a crosshair.1
