Abandon option and not counting as completed trial

I don't understand how it doesn't count as a completed trial if the outcome is going to be the same. If the killer slugs everyone and you're trying to get your challenges done for the rift - you have to wait it out and be left slugged on the ground. If you abandon, you don't get your quest that you completed. With there being daily quests soon, this sounds like a bad idea. It should count as a completed game. Sometimes I don't care about the mori or waiting for the hook animation when I'm the last one to die so I just go next by abandon option. I don't want to be forced to wait so I can get a completed challenge/quest/rift. Can they please count as completed?

    Exact, also not counting match as completed trial would affect Killrates and MMR causing total imbalance

    You do keep progress in quests when you abandon; it does not count as a completed trial because YOU LEFT BEFORE IT COMPLETED.

    Abandon == I give up

    Even with everyone slugged someone may have unbreakable, kobe, or wiggle free.

    It doesn't count towards quests. Unless I didn't get a quest done for some reason when I abandoned after everyone was slugged
