Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Some more screencaps from the map:

    image.png image.png image.png image.png image.png

It seems to be in the Withered Isle realm.

Also, ignore the ads in the top left. Those were part of the stream.

So excited for this! It's surreal to see the model and map after all the fan works. I was really hoping for Mike, but this is just fine too! Looking forward to the proper showcase in a couple weeks!

A tad disappointed we're not getting Michael/Henry/Vanessa/Charlie (3 of which all have actual artwork to pull from, and Charlie would especially be unique as our first robotic Survivor), but I understand not having a Survivor for this one. Michael's the most obvious choice and he spends most of the games as a walking corpse with nothing but an 8-bit figure or a reflection of Rick Astley to go off of, and the others are mostly relegated to the books or are Vanessa, who might tentatively work better as a Legendary for Afton in her possessed? Vanny "form".

And I get to cross another of my most wanteds of my list, and it even comes with a map. So regardless, I'm pretty happy.

you do realize all those “children” are all in there 20s now and aren’t children anymore?
plus this is good now people aren’t going to ask for FNAF anymore cause we got it

It's exactly how I've imagined the map when having discussions about it. Plopping the Pizzeria down in the middle of the woods in Withered Isle so you don't have to cram everything inside the building. Though I hope it is a very large building with two or three generators inside so there's plenty of reason to run through it.

I haven't done a deep dive as I'm at work, but all I want out of this chapter is a good new indoor level.

Plz tell me this is a Greenville with a super huge main building. I need some Lerys competition.

This^ When it was DnD and Castlevania, nobody batted an eye at media targeted towards children being included. One could argue their older status as 80's media implies a naturally older fanbase, which is accurate I would say, but to imply that FNAF's adult audience is just blatantly non-existent, or that children don't play DnD or Castlevania today, is just people bending reality to fit the stigma they wanna attach to others. I was 8 years old when I got into Fnaf originally, I'm 19 now, the bar really isn't that high for us to exist.

If this was actually about the behavior and sometimes actual childish actions of the FNAF community, I feel like there might ground to cover; but honestly, you could make the most polite, respectful comment or discussion relating to FNAF and still get bombarded by dislikes and hateful replies. It just feels like people use the excuse that FNAF fans were admittedly annoying in the past around the time of Hellraiser to be just as annoying as they were then.

When it comes to politics, that's a different discussion where I'd say the criticism is a lot more warranted. But the people saying "time for all the kids to take over" need to seriously ease up a bit.

I'm going to be honest, FNAF fans on the DbD community were so annoying on the past 5 years that just because of that I had hoped they were never going to get what they wanted. Remember when they kept insisting Springtrap was going to be released all the way back in 2021, even though all the clues and teasers left by the devs pointed to Hellraiser, which FNAF fans kept saying were all "red herrings" (They kept saying letters forming the word HELLRAISER were a red herring, ff sake…)? Remember how much they complained when Pinhead got confirmed, even though it was obvious? Remember how they kept complaining about any other licensed chapter on the following years because it wasn't FNAF, even those that came with way bigger horror icons, like Chucky? It's incorrect to say FNAF fans are "children", but that repetitive behavior was childish, to say the least.

But leaving that aside and trying to be more rational about it, I think this license will be good for DbD. It's a popular franchise that can bring a bunch of new players, afterall. I still have one problem with it, related to certain donations the creator of the IP likes to make, but that's a whole other discussion…

I'm gonna preface this by saying I'm 100% down for a Supernatural chapter, but damn if I wasn't getting FNAF/Hellraiser flashbacks last night after the stream. The roadmap literally spelling out "the ones who live" (a literal Walking Dead show featuring two of the main stars, who also joined Fortnite not long ago) and yet SPN fans were insisting the survivor chapter has to be Supernatural. It's gonna be like this until the chapter reveal lol

I saw some people commenting about Supernatural by the end of the stream, but are they still at that? 😂 This is funny because, okay, maybe at the time it COULD be interpreted as Supernatural, because people hadn't realized the clues at the worldmap and people were looking for something at anything the devs had said during the stream, and they naturally said "supernatural" a couple of times because, yeah, there are a lot of supernatural stuff in DbD... but come on, to keep saying that AFTER the actual clues were found? The letters literally formed the name of the newest TWD show! That indeed gives Hellraiser/FNAF flashbacks, lol.

Like, honestly y'all's tends to blend together after awhile but there's something undeniably funny about this reply in particular cause tbh I'm not even sure you play DBD after reading it.

"DBD has killers with tragic lore and deep stories," Freddy Fazbear is a murdered 6 year old, tragedy is this characters reason for existence. "DBD has killers with complex abilities," Springtrap is already confirmed to have a complicated multi ability. "FNAF has…a bear with a soundboard…I'll pass" so were you just not paying attention to Naughty Bear or is the hypocrisy intentional? Lmao.

Preparing this in the seven minutes it took from my last comment is certainly something lmao, but honestly there's literally nothing in this post of substance.

Like bro, this is all just a fancy way of still saying "WHAT YOU LIKE IS BAD!!" and "WHAT I LIKE IS GOOD!!" and since literally everything in this comment isn't even based on logic, rather just saying "if you think FNAF isn't cringe or at the level of other horror" blah blah commonly regurgitated stigma about the series.

Genuinely, idk if you wrote that in advance just cause my opinion hurt you so much, but I'm just saying only one of us is getting a killer and map in a couple weeks, and quite literally, half of your points are wrong due to the Collab we are looking at right now due to its Adult nature lmao.

"Naughty Bear? Really? Now you’re comparing DBD’s unique killers to a comedy game with a bear running around doing random stuff? Nice try, but Naughty Bear is as relevant as a broken VHS tape at a flea market. " Stuff in DBD, isn't relevant to DBD? Y'all will say anythinggggggfff

To start. You wrote this post in 4 minutes, which is 240 seconds and this comment has 535 words. I think I struck a nerve, and I think you'll be happy to report I spent less time paying attention to each letter than you did typing them.

"So keep pretending it’s all “adults now” if it makes you feel better, but I’m not buying it." Lmao I never said that. I said nonFnaf fans have a tendency to single out people and insult them for no reason whilst being just as annoying as the ones that were annoying in the FNAF community. You not only did you not respond to that comment initially, you instead went after the one where I simply said I was excited about the chapter, which basically proved my point the moment you tried to pull this superiority complex out on me.

    ArkInk Member Posts: 1,035

"The time I spent crafting a response" You didn't spend time on anything bro lmao

This comment has 431 words, it was written within 180 seconds of my last post. You don't care what I have to say, and this isn't and never was a discussion. This was you insulting me cause "hurr durr FNAF bad" and now you're just letting your subconscious spew whatever faster than any reasonable human would have to spell check cause you're mad. So, stay mad lol I'm getting Springtrap in 3 weeks.

The funniest thing is everything you accuse me of I have had extremely productive conversations about, you just seem to think acting like a 4 year old and insulting me constantly is the best way to get what you want. I'm not missing the 'forest for the trees' in a response from a guy who started his interaction with me by saying "FNAF fans really think a haunted Chuck E. Cheese simulator belongs in Dead by Daylight. Bro, Freddy Fazbear gets clapped by a security door. Meanwhile, my guy The Blight is out here folding survivors at Mach 3. Stay in the pizzeria"

Like bro, you ain't a poet and this isn't a discussion. This was you insulting me, being mad I gave you pushback, and then just throwing a tidal wave of text at me cause you're mad. Just try this on a person in your day to day, say "stay in the pizzeria, you Chucky Cheese simulator toddler" and then "yeah no bro of course you don't submit to my superior reasoning and logic" after throwing 3 college assignments worth of text within 15 minutes.

This is some peak DBD mentality right here.

"You're excitement doesn't invalidate the larger conversation, like how I should be able to call you a child when you express joy in something and then you should consider me an intellectual equal and engage me in debate."

Did I sum that up right? The issue with your "engage the discussion" type beat is that quite literally, I didn't ask for nor at any point wanted to debate this with you. You just seemed to think you could justify your rudeness by throwing text you thought up in a microsecond, and if you well and truly are wondering why I only respond to a sentence or so and keep ignoring the rest, it's because I'm literally not reading it.

Do you see where we're at here? Do you see how I'm telling you this isn't a discussion? Do you see how this is just me meming while you write whatever this is?

Mate, please stop with this. Trying to educate other people on etiquette and whatever this faux niceness is trying to accomplish. Your first comment even beyond the 'jab' is just FNAF has bear, DBD has depth. Forgive me, but that wasn't really what I would call a thought grenade before the intellectual heist.

"Look, if you drop a comment that’s basically a call to arms for a debate, don’t be shocked when someone picks up the sword and starts swinging." Can I quote you when I say "please spare me?" Since apparently that's an appropriate way to start a discussion.

This wasn't a call to arms for a debate, and if this was F13 or Candyman or any other licence I guarantee you wouldn't have batted an eye at it. My point has been the same since my first reply to you and even the one serious comment I made in response to Op, which if you had just replied to in the beginning we probably actually could have discussed FNAF in a meaningful capacity. My point, condensed down to its most meaningful grievance, is that the annoying FNAF fan stereotype (which trust me I know there are a ton of them out there) is often applied to people who have to done nothing to warrant it.

With all that in mind, can you see how me getting a comment that's mocking in nature in response to me literally just being excited about the chapter is inherently confirming my bias? Like, can you blame me for not taking this seriously after that? You gotta do a lot more than be insulting to elicit a discussion.

"Maybe stop treating everyone who doesn’t share your enthusiasm like they’re some kind of villain just because they don’t worship FNAF the way you do."

Bro you replied to me lmao. Look through my posts, I've had plenty of FNAF discussions and my tune hasn't changed an ounce. It's fine if you don't like FNAF, idk why you expect me to sit here and listen to you whine about it. I made a simple statement about being excited for a chapter, the fact you think that "invites debate" and somehow think making 'friendly' jabs which are just kinda insults at every turn is effective communication makes me think you're honestly way too juvenile to be here lmao

I'm not backing down on this bro, your manners are the issue, not you disliking the bear lol

    ArkInk Member Posts: 1,035

Dude let me put this in plain English. I'm intentionally being abrasive because you annoyed me in our very first interaction. I don't know how you've managed to escape that fact, I'm not trying to hide it.

I don't care if you dislike Five Nights at Freddies, do that that all you want. Your attempts to make me feel bad for enjoying the series are falling on wholly deaf ears, and I'm not interested in hearing anything you have to say because you have failed to convince me you've spent more than 2 words a second actually thinking about anything you type.

To belittle myself as much as possible to make my point crystal clear, my issue isn't that you're badmouthing my precious and beloved Freddy Fazbear, my issue is that you've seemed to decide I want to get a notification and talk to you about how much you dislike him. So please and kindly, as the mature adult that you clearly want to be and clearly don't think I am, go talk to anyone that isn't me. Is that statement lost in translation? Do you want to talk to me about the abrasiveness in my tone?

I'm going to Pax bro, this ain't worth it.
