About anticheat
Why is anticheat not a priority? Why is it last in the priority list?

have they stated that the list is sorted by priority??

They mentioned in their stream today they will be cracking down harder and up their protection systems against cheaters.

It's not gonna matter much probably. Free epic accounts. Also all the new players FNAF brings in, some of them will turn to cheats inevitably.

It will matter. They are things they can do 💯.

yeah, we’ve heard that a few times before

I don’t know 🤷🏼♂️ what to tell you, other than what they just said 2 hours ago live.

We need console-only cross-play to avoid having to deal with cheating.

People have been asking ever since cross-play became a thing. It's one of the reasons people play on console, and BHVR was like, "Nah, you can have the optimization issues and cheaters."
7 -
that would be dope!

This x100. The filters and reshade are cheating too. How am I gonna mind game effectively with a joystick at a loop vs a PC player where my red stain is going through walls and is brighter than the sun
I've gone and watched VODs of my own gameplay and my own red stain is burning the retina out of my eye on their PC

Saying reshade and filters is cheating in 2025 crazy work

I'm on console and don't have those options. Why am I forced to play against people that do? They give an advantage

There are not only console players there, so what do you mean console players can't use filters so no one else can? Also, this game can be played on computers just saying

I dunno about the other people who were part of the console-only conversation, but I for one wasn't talking about taking anything away from PC. We were focusing on console, and giving console players console-only cross-play. We just want to separate ourselves from PC. We don't care what PC players do if we're not forced to play with them. Right now, turning off cross-play means we don't get matches.
In this fantasy land where console players get console-only cross-play, PC players would get what many have often claimed they want, which is no more console teammates.

It is what it is, nothing much to do. But they're improving a gamma system tho, I'm curious how will it gonna effect the game

I am not delusional. I am completely aware of what Visenya can do. Keep on judging though. ;)

"We’re cracking down on cheaters" – a phrase so recycled, it should come with a green label.
The real punchline? Dead by Daylight is a PvP game from 2016 that still trusts the client more than most people trust their ex. No server-side validation. In 2025!Meanwhile, visual parity is a joke, filter-based advantages are shrugged off, and cheat tools get version updates more reliably than the game does.
If anticheat is on the roadmap, they might want to stop driving in circles.

It seems like BHVR doesn’t prioritize anything unless it’s starting to have a significant impact on the player count. They have limited resources and have to decide the most important things to use those resources on to maximize the numbers of players and thus revenue. I would do the same thing if I was them, to be honest. It is a for-profit business after all. Unless people start to leave the game in large numbers due to cheaters, we probably won’t see anything other than the obviously ineffective anti-cheat system they currently have. I will say that I haven’t seen an obvious cheater in a long time, so in my experience it’s not a big problem. I know others on the forum have claimed to encounter cheaters on a frequent basis.

You can see cheaters in high mmr mostly easily, they can either hold you hostage in a game, crash your game or play subtitle. Just because you don't encounter with cheaters doesn't change the fact game has a lot of cheaters

This community is so cooked that now we have "Us vs Them" discourse about PC and console lol.

Outright dismissing valid grievances as us vs. them. PC has huge advantages over console mechanically, they can use filters and reshade which give an advantage, and the large amount of obvious and subtle cheaters are coming from PC. It's not lost on me that every "juicer" survivor that wins every 50/50, always paths perfectly, and never messes up in chase is on Epic or Steam. The amount of work it takes to try to report a subtle cheater is way too much to ask when they aren't going to get banned anyways

I'm not dismissing anything. PC players are not your enemies. Suggesting that console and PC are separated so that console players don't have to deal with cheaters the same way PC players have to is crazy to me. We should be asking so that the console experience is directly improved by more optimization and even some little QoL advantages (like the aim assist system for Overwatch console players, which for obvious reasons only console players get). We should also be asking BHVR to improve the report system so that it's easier to get cheaters banned, and to implement a stronger anti-cheat so that we don't have to manually report every cheater. PC players are sick and tired of cheaters too, and separating PC from console solves nothing. This anger y'all are directing towards PC players solely for playing on PC as if we're all cheaters (we are not) should instead be directed at BHVR for not solving both the rampant cheater epidemic and the console performance issues once and for all.

We have been. For years. Not only does BHVR not do it, they have gone backwards on QoL issues, removing button shortcuts that console players used constantly. Performance gets worse with a lot of patches. They don't fix things, they don't optimize. They can't even be bothered to add the dead zone and response curve settings for controller that we've been begging for.
Don't turn this into console vs PC. This is console vs BHVR. We're frustrated. We're angry. Killers are rarely designed with console in mind. Game performance suffers. Controller input lag makes the low fps issues worse. People have been asking for console-only cross-play since cross-play was added, it's not a new request. There seems to be about a .00001% chance it'll ever be a thing, because I don't think BHVR has ever even acknowledged us when we bring it up.

The PC vs console war has been going on since the beginning of time. It existed before killer vs survivor, before these forums, and before DbD; it'll contine to be fought long after this game dies.
I've been on forums for other games, and I've seen other players on console say that they sacrifice PC performance and the precision of KB&M for the lack of cheaters on console. It's not a new sentiment, and it's not specific to DbD. It's not PC vs console, either: it's a statement of what part of their gaming experience they value more. In DbD, we get the worst of both worlds. There is no benefit to being on console. We pay just as much as everyone else (and before the price adjustments we paid more) for the worst experience BHVR can provide.
